On top of that, he said Butler led the nation with 29 goals. We all know someone else led the nation with 30

I was in the Whitt with my daughter last Thursday. If you connect the dots in the four face-off circles with imaginary lines in both directions (making a rectangle) and extend the lines to the boards that is where the tapering of the boards/ice surface gradually begins, both on the sides and behind the net. I estimate that at the maximum point the boards have been brought in 4 - 5 feet. My daughter said, "They're not corners, they are curves". When I told her that was a good description, the English Journalism major responded , "That's what I do". I suggested she look into writing a story in The New Hampshire about the changes, maybe generating some early season fan interest.

The women were practicing, drilling on corner play, while we were in the Whitt.

Pop quiz for freak: You have Jeff Smith in a track meet, a UNH football game at Gillette, and a UNH women's hockey game. All at the same time. What do you do? What do you do?

Did anybody else catch NHL Network's preseason double header last night? JVR looked great in the first game. He wasn't able to pot one, but he created a bunch of chances, drew a big penalty and was physically dominant in winning loose puck battles. With Simon Gagne shipped down to Tampa Bay, he'll most likely be on a top two line and appears to be making the most of it.
In the second game, Bobby Butler looked comfortable with the puck on his stick and wasn't bashful about throwing his weight around, but he was overshadowed by the guys he is competing with for a job. Ottawa has a lot of 3rd/4th line type guys, so he's facing an uphill battle to win a job out of camp.

First of all, I'll post where I want.

Second of all, the person asked ON THIS THREAD about those planning to go to Gillette. I was responding TO THAT PERSON about my possible plans.

    Don't like it? TFB.

Of course. Oh, and, they've redone most of the under ice stuff (new sponsors). I'm a big fan of center ice; red line with the UNH Cat Logo on it. Looks sharp.
