Tyler Scott will enter the season as the #2 behind Digi. Wyer will be the #3 and is a longshot to see time between the pipes during the first part of the season. Digi could struggle at first, but UNH will have the best d corps from top to bottom in recent memory, and they will be a nice luxury for him.

Absolutely. Justifies having a trophy case.

Haven't been here in a long time . When is the last time UNH had bad goaltending? Have faith Wildcat nation! ( I don't mean some individual game bad keeping)

To paraphrase a post from last March:

"There's been some discussion on this thread about whether there will be a suitable and comparable replacement for Brian Foster next season. Out of curiosity, I checked out the website of Matt DiGirolamo's former USHL team, the Waterloo Black Hawks, to find out more about his history. I found some very interesting statistics. It turns out that DiGirolamo compares favorably with a former Waterloo goalie whom you will recognize. Here's what the "Most Wins in a Season" table shows:

            #1 Kevin Regan 2003 28 Wins 2.37 GAA .915 SV%
            #2 Matt DiGirolamo 2007 25 Wins 2.41 GAA .900 SV%
            #4 Matt DiGirolamo 2006 22 Wins 2.54 GAA .905 SV%

In other words, DiGi's career in Juniors' Hockey was comparable to one of UNH's best goalies ever. Maybe DiGi has more potential than we have seen since he arrived in Durham."

              WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I don't know about you, but looking at his .900 and .905 save% in the USHL, I'm stoked!

If this doesn't work out, we can put him on a team with Eddie Caron, Adam Pineault, John Sabo, Bill Cass, and Ben Lovejoy. Those guys were great before they got to college too.

The question for me remains... if this kid was any good would he have grabbed some PT? Or do we assume it doesn't matter because even if he's only slightly inferior to the previous starter(s), that Umile will do everything in his power to win a coveted regular season title? I'm still having a tough time with this one.

Regardless, this guy's .900 save % in the USHL is something to get excited about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The USHL numbers don't mean so much as his career HE stats. 0.858% with a 4.96 GAA. Those are not inspiring numbers if you are a UNH fan.

Of course, performance in the USHL only speaks to a goalie's potential. It doesn't guarantee success at the NCAA level.

Nick P. - you forgot Travis Banga and we could use another scorer like him as I think there is an equal question to the goalie situation as to which forwards will be go-to scorers this year.

Ahhhhhhhh. He'll have to take a spot on the 2nd line.

Now, I couldn't watch the whole game, but I heard the final score was 4-0. Argentina won, right?
Four goals in a soccer game? Is that possible? I thought there was a mercy rule after two.

Hey, he was great once he bumped down to DIII
