Re: Greatest Moments in Frozen Four History

Denver holding off Maine's 6 on 3 advantage for over a minute in the closing seconds of the 2004 nat'l title game has got to be on anyone's top 10 FF highlight list. It was a turkey shoot!
Soon to be lurking for two decades !

A turkey shoot, then Maine should have had Sergeant York.
If at first you don't succeed, try cheating.

Marcus Gustafsson's game winning goal in OT versus UNH (then and always the University of No Hardware) in the national championship in 1999 needs to be in the top 10!

You really think they just got caught cheating the one time they were doing it?

I liked seeing Ayers FREAK OUT after Tallackson's goal to make it 4-1. That is when you really knew it was done. Back-to-back.

Northern Michigan over Boston University 7-6 in 3OT at the old St. Paul Civic Center.

That was my 1st Frozen Four. Missing a few, this year will my 17th.

After reading these posts, there have been so many great finals and semi-finals in the past 20 years.

Worst ending to an emotional game/series/season I've ever witnessed in person.
You know you go to UMaine if...

...you think Bananas is a good name for a giant bear.
...you would riot after hockey games but its too darn cold.

That was the loudest crowd I have ever heard at a hockey game. Very emotional and pretty cool.

Not that it was dramatic, but in terms of "Greatest Moments in Frozen Four History," how about the display Nathan Gerbe put on in 2008?

As much as I hate to say it, I thought a great moment was Josh Langfeld's championship winning goal for Michigan in Overtime playing BC in Boston in 1998. It was somewhat of an "us against the world" game even though Michigan was in the middle of their dynasty run and Turco was a rock in net. Playing BC in Boston put them at a major disadvantage and Lanfeld scored a huge goal when it counted the most.

Actually, that team had fewer scholarships because of the NCAA fallout. And still won the championship...

You think the NCAA didn't investigate back into the '80's? Or do you think the NCAA should have investigated the future before it happened?
