    ha, well it was in past tense because it was like 2 years ago. But i don't think many people lose their funny ability.

    I'd give Gazley an A. Just my .02.

    Follow the fine example set by Johnny Spirit. Take that token course.

    My freshman year I had an ISS class in the fall with Petry and Tropp. The prof was a really cool dude and liked talking to the athletes in the class so there were a couple days where we got to hear from both of them. He even had the athletes from each team give a short powerpoint presentation detailing what it's like to be a D1 athlete here and what their daily schedule might look like and i remember coming away appreciating how hard the hockey team really does work. But what is relevant here is that when Petry's NHL future came up he was asked if he would leave school early to play in the NHL and his answer seemed to be a very certain "yes." I always remembered that but didn't want any further unneeded speculation into what he was going to do but now that he is apparently gone, I guess it doesn't matter. But good luck to him and he was an absolute pleasure to watch.

    Also, Tropp seemed like a pretty funny guy. Probably one of the reasons why his teammates apparently like him so much.

    How about the kid who shows up in the Spartan outfit? However, I am not sure if he has the lungs for it.

AJ doesn't have a lot of game-time under his belt, but everyone seems to agree that they would like to see him play some. The leadership is in pretty good hands there. Let's face it, many teams would love to have six returning defensemen with the ice time that these six do.

    Jeff will be sorely missed as he is truly a good person as well as a great hockey player. However, this team can move on with what is left.
    Gunn played a brief stint with Chicago Steel, then was injured ... it was decided he would sit the rest of the season out and come back next year.
    That could all change ... I was kinda counting on another (tall) defenseman to come in but we had nothing to offer him yet. Now that guy is going somewhere else (UNO) and unless Comley's got someone else in mind, I suppose State's got to give Gunn a shot* in 2010 after all. Unless MSU can do it with 7 on the roster.

    The fact we're now probably scrambling for another d-man tells me Petry's outlook on school changed over the course of the last month or two.

    * wow. punn not intended

    In other, happier news, Jeff Lerg's come off the IR and will be joining the Devils' ECHL affiliate - Trenton.
