Think about how many players would have been ejected if everyone who as she put it "took a swing" got ejected?
If this was the case most of the team would have been ejected. Also, if this rule was in place McKenzie would be ejected almost every week. Haha

Paula has lost all credibility with me. That she suggests that Miami lose the "chips on the shoulder" while perpetuating disrespect is both hypocritical and unreadable.

After all this malcontent towards the Student I was hoping that it would redeem itself in the only way it could, the good old, reliable, Police Beat.

        1) Someone lost their drugs and yelled at their significant other
        2) A broken side-view mirror
        3) A burglary

        Can you say epic fail?

Totally agree the Police beat was definitely an epic fail this week. On a somewhat positive note "the Brotherhood" was only mentioned three times in the hockey article.

"the Red and White" made quite a few appearances as well, though less then expected. Progress!?!

Jeesh, you guys were busy since I logged in yesterday!

I guess my suggestion of "The Dynasty lives on..." for Part II, while by far the best option, is simply too late.

I know tonight's game is on the NHL Network now. Does anyone know for certain if it will still be on ONN tonight as well?

              Why aren't we winning?

How about last week when 3 students stiffed a cabby over a $5 fare and assaulted him?

At least we get someone with a neutral view of the BG fight. And with that many DQs this season, it definitely does look like that team loves to goon it up when they're down (read: every game).

But then she picks a split, so she still sucks.
I actually think she hit the nail on the head about the incident. It mirrors what I said earlier in the week. Miami cannot do that and engage like that. They have to start showing restrant. She even pointed out the two incidents I did with Knapp going after grover well after things had escalated and hirsch's ridiculous behavior going after grover willing being escorted to the box.

The last two weeks have elevated Miami's total PIM's but they were near the top almost all season. However a lot of those have been inflated because of several 10 min misconducts they have gotten. There is something to them having a chip on their shoulder and I love it, but would like them to channel it a little better.

Ha that's awesome. "If any of Blais’ skaters happen to have their eyes on this report, the coach would probably prefer they stop reading now. Because here’s where we get into exactly how impressive the RedHawks have been in 2009-10. "

Last Saturday was a very unique circumstance and there is a little part of me that would love to see BGSU pull off a first round upset and have them come to Oxford.

North Dakota's Darcy Zajac summed it up nicely after their game againist SCSU last weekend:

“It’s frustrating because if they would’ve let it happen, it would be settled now. Now it’s just going to escalate and you get worse and worse things happening. … We’re grown men. We know what to do. We know how the game is played.”

Oh no they didn't. Awesome stuff. Without yet heading the article, I'm going with over 12 references of "Brotherhood" or "Red and White"

While I don't like sticking up for weston, she does know about the brotherhood. She has had several articles on it and has done interviews and research. But there is a line in protecting your goalie and acting like a fool. Hirschfeld acted like a fool. This isn't juniors or pro's where you can drop your gloves, sit for 5 min and come back to play. You can't put yourself in a situation to be suspended for a game. She makes very good points that with what Miami has ahead of them they can't let an incident against a horrible team who has nothing to play for affect them for any other game besides the one they are in. They let it happen against Lake st. as well and I think this team's emotions are very fragile, I get it. But to be a championship team you have to pick your spots and that wasn't a good one. I thought Puala was spot on in her assesment of the incident, it is what it is. You have to look at the bigger picture with things and this one is a sore spot.

Since Mckenzie was mentioned as well, that kid needs to take a deep breath and calm down. It hasn't happened yet but at some point if he keeps it up he will hurt this team at a critical point. There have been far too many incidents this year where he has overreacted and taken dump penalties. That incident doesn't happen against lake st. if he doesn't come half way across the ice and jump in. IMO he needs to step back and sit out a game or two, I love his intensity but he needs to learn how to channel it. It is similar to Miele when he first got here, there is an adjustment to college where it isn't juniors and you can just go after guys and fight without much punishment. He just hasn't figured it out yet.

Meh...yeah while UNO may be on a hot streak right now, if you look at who they've been beating I think they may be blowing this out of proportion. I mean of course any team that's on a hot streak should not be underestimated by any means. But sweeping Michigan, a very unimpressive, inconsistent team this year isn't too impressive, the same with ND (who they split the series with), getting most of the points with a sub-par OSU team, and then beating northern?

It may just be me...and i don't doubt it will be an interesting game. But i think a lot of people have been blowing this Nebraska team our of proportion.

No disrespect but I believe it is just you. Take them lightly if you want, but they are a very good team. Michigan's crutch this year is poor goaltending and inconsistant play. They still have beaten good clubs, namely wisconsin and boston. NMU is one of the hottest teams in the country so that win shouldn't be taken lightly. If you want to play that card, Miami has beaten Western and Bowling green recently so how impressive is what they have done lately?? Just playing devils advocate because obviously what Miami has done the last month and a half is impressive no matter who they have played and so is what UNO has done. To do any thing consistantly at this level of hockey is impressive. They are a well coached team with great team speed, you need to look deeper than the surface sometimes to see how good they are. All you need is a little confidence to get you going, if that is beating teams that aren't the cream of the crop so be it. They are playing with great confidence and have some good talent, that is always dangerous. A loss this weekend won't make or break Miami's season, but it is good that UNO is playing well and has a lot to play for. It gives Miami a tremendous challenge this weekend that they need to face in preparation for the NCAA tournament.

I would tend to agree with you on that. Any "hott" CCHA team becomes far less impressive when you actually look at who they are beating, but we have had enough close games with "inferior" opponents this season to know that there will probably be a 3-2 game (going either way) one night this weekend.

Sitting in line at the Goggin, only 3 and half hours to go!
