    I was suffering from PTSD.

The way the pairwise works, and with both teams so highly rated and in contention for the national tournament, that may end up being the single most important play of the regular season. Instead of a loss, Maine gets a win. Instead of a road win against a ranked non-conference opponent, Quinnipiac gets a loss.

The boarding call against maine was right in front of hansen, he was watching.
Roulliard called it from 100ft away. It was oobvious enough
That was in front of me and I laughed because Hansen was looking right at it.

hansen also allowed 27 to change on a quinipiac icing after putting his hand up saying no changes and looking at 27

(does anyone know if an injured player can sit after an icing in ncaa hockey?)

Good question because I thought you had to stay out there and that was gamesmanship by Pecknold

Also Roullaird was determined to be the first star all weekend some calls were right, some downright bad, and both refs let stuff go they should have called but in their defense the pace was intense

Also its been a while since I've attended a game like that. Most of the crowd stayed and that place erupted on the tying goal

He says he threw it on net and somehow it went in. That somehow was largely due to the screen Freel set, goalie didn’t even react to the shot so he was completely screened by Freel. Freel is doing great battling at the net front this year.

Sorry I'm a curious person. None of the articles say and I'm not finding any info online. Thought somebody here might have some info but all there is is snark.

I thought the same thing when I read he was retired military.16 million is a ton of money but I assumed family is where it came from. Pretty nice gift for the Athletic Dept.

I looked it up…on an icing, the offending team’s players cannot change, but that does not include injured players…The way 27 stayed down and then skated gingerly once he got up, I would agree that he was “injured”

i wonder if Maine had lost, whether Coach Barr would have had to have helped Roulliard and Hansen out of the rink by squeezing their heads out the door. ( remembering whitehead’s best line)

Thinking the same thing. Potentially, big PW benefits down the road. I'd have to speculate that The Q will be a major player as the season continues.

Watching the games on TV almost DQ's me from making any salient comments, but I continue to be a fan of Scott, and am really liking Russel so far. Mitton looks good as well. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Ben shuffles the lines. I thought Albin was fighting the puck a bit last night, but it all worked out.

While I know that most of our little group ignores football, Maine demolishing #5 'nova didn't suck, either.

That's a Homecoming weekend for ya!

It is a huge step towards the $38 million needed to get the $170 million from the Alfonds. They named the softball field after the Labats.

I wonder how much is left to get to that $38 million matching needed?

Are you a bit off on your numbers? $90 million (Alfond) + $10 million (Morse) + $7 million (New Balance) + $80 million (Alfond) + $16 million (Labat) = $203 million. And that is not counting "smaller" donations. Total of athletic fundraising will be $241 million?

                              From this article: https://goblackbears.com/news/2024/1...tate-gift.aspx

“The Labat gift will also help UMaine move closer to meeting the $38 million match necessary to leverage the $170 million UMS TRANSFORMS grant from the Harold Alfond Foundation. The Alfond Foundation's commitment to the Black Bears is one of the largest single contributions to a Division I athletics program in U.S. history.”

                                Oh OK.....$38 million - $10 million - $7 mllion - $16 million = $5 million.....so probably less than $5 million.
