Yeah, I tend to lurk around all the Hockey East threads, and I read the Sun story shortly after it was posted. From what I remember, it wasn't a fight at all, it was that Fowler got jumped and attacked off-campus in the city, which was later corroborated by Owen's brother on Tw*tter.

On Owen Fowler… the more I read/hear the more it seems we got a Brendan Walsh 2.0. I feel like Walsh had a knee issue that caused him to take a year off. But he was also stout for not being that large, played physical, and was an instigator. Owen appears to have similar playing style. He is described also as elusive and good in transition. I’m hoping for more production on the ice and less trouble off it. Here is an interview that is worth listening to… https://youtu.be/Ax-KjGPoQ-8?si=dR6xpgu6KlxxawgW

I’m a little surprised Barr would want Fowler but must have a strong enough relationship with him to be confident he isn’t going to hurt the culture at all. He certainly is someone who had talent and likely came without using much scholarship money.
There are three or four guys I would have expected to transfer before Pabich and Lindauer so could be a lot of movement. I’m all for kids being able to do what they like but not sure how much it will benefit teams or players.Originally posted by BobbyBrady
Crosby probably wouldn't even be on BC's top two lines next year

I personally don't really see the concerns about Fowler, especially if the concerns are about "character". Injury concerns maybe, but by all accounts the kid was the victim of an attack that he did not initiate, there are no concerns in my eyes about him fitting in with the "culture". If I were attacked and seriously injured someplace, I would probably want to move on too. And maybe in Maine's more free-skating system his offense could be better opened up than in Lowell's more defensive and conservative system.

He also played for three different USHL teams which isn’t a great sign. He might be an awesome kid who has had horrible luck but there are certainly red flags.
