I can assure you neither the Cornell coaching staff nor players would ever stand for doing something like that. We get it, you hate Cornell. You can't let that corrupt your thinking so badly. Cornell has taken almost no major penalties this entire season, and yet you're on here accusing them of attempted battery. You need to quit with this drivel.

PS: 6 NCAA tournaments in the last 7 seasons for Cornell, not bad! How many for Colgate?
My son is a Colgate student and I do root for them when they’re not playing Cornell. It’s a shame IBT feels compelled to post such demonstrable nonsense.

I am debating getting a room in Auburn, and going to Providence on Friday. It is halfway between Springfield and Providence. So like a 30 minute drive on the highway from both Springfield and Providence.

Hope they comes back a little stronger next year regardless but they learned some valuable lessons this year about how the college game is played.
They did get a learning lesson...especially after the 12-3-1 start...Josh was banged around from the get-go.. some legit...but many attempted head shots...teams figured Bradley out and blanketed him to no end..taking his blast from the top of the faceoff circle...Josh responded well and played his game...which was a 200' game....while at times Bradley faded out of the picture and became frustrated...when he moves around and back checks he is very dangerous...that's where he has changed down the stretch....but he does need to get stronger and he too has to evolve into a 200' game....both are talents and keys to Thursdays game and next season....and a change that at first looked as a shake up only was Renwick being put between the Nadeau's....that also made Breen on the other line a dangerous asset...both on the 5x5 and pk...bottom line the season goes on and the future is bright.

            • We all remember how Cornell plays the game. Lot of seemingly harmless interference and obstruction. Borderline holding. Anything they can do to slow the game down. And they'll be physcial. I think Maine needs to start the game physical and transition into their skating and puck control game as it goes on. Not wanting to be captain obvious here (we have enough of them on this board already, lol) but the first goal will be critical. Booyaah will need to make a few game stealing saves early on which will make things much easier. Heres hoping our style of play is kryptonite to the Red.
I believe in equality of effort. In life, in hockey in everything.

                Boring to watch. Go Maine!
I will not be out cheered in my own building.

And that state happens to be New York? Ergo, Cornell commits offenses that should be penalties, but aren't called? Well, that's interesting, because many of Cornell's opponents are from the state of, you guessed it, NEW YORK! Including Iowa's favorite team, Colgate. So the refs are biased in favor of New York, but apparently only Cornell benefits from it, not their conference travel partner 1.5 hours away.

Every step of logic here is ridiculous on its face. Iowa may be a great hockey fan, but he is biased against Cornell, who is Colgate's biggest rival (though not vice-versa).

If you *actually* wanted to know what Cornell is about, they have, as usual, one of the best defenses in the country. Their 1.9 GA/G is fewest in college hockey. They have achieved this despite half their defense being freshmen and playing 8-9 freshmen most nights. They are well coached and well disciplined.

Cornell is the underdog here. Maine had a better season. Cornell, like the other Ivies, cannot often accept transfers and cannot allow grad students to play, putting them at a disadvantage. But Cornell has lots of young talent, especially freshman forward Jonathan Castagna and freshman defenseman Ben Robertson. Cornell's goalie Ian Shane has been solid all year. Forwards Gabriel Seger and Dalton Bancroft combine size with skill to lead the team in scoring. If you actually watched them, you'd see no "gooning it up." All their games are available on ESPN+ if you'd like to confirm that for yourself.

                    • This matchup reminds me of the Everblades Tournament held in Estero. FL from 2000 to 2013 (Maine pulled out after 2013 and the tournament ran for three more years before dying). Maine and Cornell were hosts each year in a 4 team tournament. In championship games where Maine and Cornell faced each other, Maine won 3 out of 4. Maine won 6 titles in 14 years and Cornell 4 in 17 appearances. I can't remember if Maine and Cornell have faced each other since then?

I was just looking this up, first matchup since 2013 when they lost in a shootout.

                          SERIES HISTORY vs CORNELL
                          • Maine holds an all-time record of 7-7-3 against the Big Red.
                          • This is the first meeting between the two squads since the 2013 Florida College Classic championship game on Dec. 29, 2013

                          • My first read on this game is it could come down to how tightly its officiated and how many power plays Maine gets/can take advantage of

Second thought of the day is Maine really needs to find a Rob Bellamy or Joey Diamond type to put on the brother’s line next year. That’s what’s missing. I know the game’s changed some but the pair needs it

Maine Hockey: I want to believe
                            43-21-4 (.662) in games I attended over 4 years as a student
                            104-47-14 (.669) in that time
                            3x FROZEN FOUR

11-20-2 in games I've attended since. (2-2-1 under Red)

I was thinking yesterday Maine had played them down there but didn’t realize they had played there that many times. I remember Maine played them one of Shawn’s final years but forget which one it was. It’s a shame they don’t play more often although I don’t blame either team for not wanting to make the drive.
