Back at the end of the original CCHA I had to opportunity to have a private conversation with Ron Mason and I won't disclose the details of that conversation.
But I was very puzzled about some of the things he said and had the impression he was being evasive to a few questions although I couldn't at the time know why he would have any reason to do so.
Years later when the Nassir situation blew up in MSU's faces suddenly in my mind all the pieces in my conversation with Ron fell right into place and I'm feel fairly certain when he was AD Ron KNEW what was going on with Nassir.

Considering you blew it on the initial statement in this post (MSU is not renaming Munn, they are naming the ice surface The Ron Mason Rink inside) it's hard to put a lot of credence in the rest of your claims. Might want to work on those details in your next edit.

Getting way out of hand ridiculously ahead of mself, but with Cullen Potter (top-5 NA skater with 2007 birth year) now committed, what are the chances that Michigan State gets 4 recruits picked in the 1st round of 2025 NHL entry draft? Sidebar fantasy to the main topic at hand - the season at hand. Game 1 vs. Lake State appears to be packed house .

There are still plenty of tickets left for opening night, but it could probably sell out with a bit of a marketing push. It's currently shaping up to be one of the better first game crowds in years, though.

Given how the off-season has gone, I sense a ton of intrigue with this team.

I was just thinking about this and decided it had probably been about 20 years. I was a child so I didn’t really think about such things but I know it’s been a loooonnggg time since these early season games were decently attended.
