I'm not thrilled about this but I agree with fade, I hope the coach knows what he's doing.

Sounds like it will be multi-segmented; Joe will lead off and stick to Dirk's script, then different players will join the show each week for a chat.

That’s good to hear they are doing something. They need some kind of show to keep people engaged.

Well, I attended the game last night in Duluth along with about 400 other Husky fans.
My impressions: 1. We have a ton of speed. It will hurt some teams. We were really unable to use it much last night due to Duluth's style of play, but on occasion we did. it's impressive. Duluth, according to the fan next to me, is a lot better this year than last.
              2. We didn't compete much for the puck.( much being a gross understatement) We let them muscle us off it way too often and when we weren't doing that we passed it to their point men so they could get another shot on net. Literally. There was a lot of line juggling. A whole lot.
              3. I have a coaching suggestion. When we go on the pp, let's just have them run 2 minutes off the clock and give the other team the puck in their end. it's a waste of time watching our guys standing around passing it between point men over and over. Just run two minutes off and give them the puck back.!
              4. our 3x3 was good. our 4x3 horrible.
              5. The freshmen. Max K is the real deal. , Lucas R has work to do. Several of our D men got lost and didn't know what to do when but I can see where they will all be excellent and a big improvement from last year,.... in the future. Right now, not that great. The transfer players are good but it will take time to get them to where they are reliable. there were a number of bad mistakes last night which should have cost us.
              6. Bronte has taken a step forward. So has Kukk, So has Mosley. Richardz got limited playing time but I liked his play when he was in.
              7. Several times we passed it, after a lot of work, to an open player in good position to shoot. And several times that open player took so long to release his shot Moses would have got old and died in that amount of time. Literally. Job would have quit and gone home. Get the puck off your Stick. for G sake. Let's not post a bulletin on the wall, in 5 minutes y'all come because we are going to shoot it.

I hope they're tightening up the D and working on special teams this week. We really can't afford anything less than two wins.

BTW, Amsoil Arena has the worst pizza I've ever had anywhere. I gave away one piece to some poor young Tech fan from Calumet who was buying it and didn't have a credit card. ( they don't take cash) and when I finally tasted it I would have thrown it out except it was 5 bucks per slice and
I had two more slices. Absolutely horrible.

Looks to me that, even though we are getting more comfortable and turnovers are down, we will lose two next weekend. I hate to say it. i do think it will be close but hard to pick us after the last few games.

this team will not finish top 3 in the CCHA.. Blake surely played his tail off this weekend, made some really good saves. Logan and Kukk were good also other than that not much here this year. Good to see Bronte bury one

I was so ****ed watching the second game. First flo hockey had a lot of problems with the replay which I had to watch, and made it hard but the refs let tons of stuff Wisconsin did in the first period go by. Not just normal calls, which there were plenty of, but all kinds of pick plays which were ignored or holding which were also ignored. It allowed wisconsin to maintain possession in areas where they should not have. Mostly away from the puck.

Second the calls against Tech in the second were marginal. They did occur but given that Wisconsin had done a lot worse and continued in the second to get away with obvious penalties, i thought it wasn't a well-reffed game at all. I commend Joe for standing up for his guys because the refs were not doing a good job. Maybe call the ref over though and get all ****ed face to face during a stoppage of play. Remember what hastings did last year and got away with. Now was Wisconsin better, yes, did we play well, no, can we play better, yes. But once we got down there in the second it was going to be tough especially when they could basically do whatever they wanted and get away with it.

I disagree with the top 3 comment. I think we win the league, I think we will continue to improve, I think it's coming along, I think we will win both games next weekend.
We will be a lot better by Christmas, but we have to do things faster and think ahead better. Right now we get the puck and haven't thought enough about where to go with it, so we hold it for 1/2 a second and fast teams make us pay for that. I thought the pp made strides this week and the pk continues to need help. We have a lot of talent it just needs to refine itself. I'd like to see fewer fly bys from Marcinkevic though and more hard nosed hockey.

I went up for the series. Maybe i just don't see all the picks and so forth without the benefit of replay, but we just looked ... slower, and not just a little bit slower. We would get the puck and get swarmed. Flipping it high out of the zone was the only breakout and dumping it in was the only break-in. And we never got to the dump in first. Marcinkrevics is an amazing stickhandler but he needs to also skate forward a little bit while doing it.

If not Tech, then who? I don't know if you've been scoreboard watching, but no one else in the conference is setting the world on fire.

The dream of 1 or 2 at-large bids is pretty much dead for the CCHA, but Tech still looks as good as anyone for the auto bid.
