This is going to be a wild year. I think Tech has to be in the top tier with 3 Pietila's on the team and the other 2 top line players back. Our D is going to be very young, but Blake covers many mistakes. Scoring again will be a challenge, but hopefully we control play in their zone and have learned to live in the hard ice areas. (Please no more "need to live in hard ice/hard skill" Joe Shows.)

One of my biggest worries is players gambling on the bus rides.

Roster is posted on the Tech website now: https://www.michigantechhuskies.com/...2023-24/roster

I expected to see the following names...but they are not listed. Anyone know the story?
        • Brett Thorne (D) - not returning for final year?
        • Topi Heiskanen (D) - not returning for sophomore year?
        • Tyler Miller (D) - I thought he was coming in as a freshman this year.
        • Ryder Matter (F) - I thought he was coming in as a freshman this year.

With draft kings having more and more college games available to bet on each year, it is only a matter of time...

Word was Thorne and Topi wanted to go pro.

No clue on the incoming Freshmen.

Looks like Miller may have been deferred to go play a season in the USHL. The Waterloo Blackhawks drafted him in May.

I'm guessing the same for Ryder Matter, who was just traded last month to another AJHL team.

Not a hockey related post, but a '54 graduate of Tech and a huge hockey fan passed today. He went to quite a few all class Tech reunions, and a lot more all Class Reunions at Doelle School in Tapiola.

He was very much one of you guys. Just too old for the internet- he was 90.

Imagine taking the ferry from Mackinaw City to St. Ignace as part of the drive to Houghton.

It's hard to imagine a bigger game all year than the very first one. It's huge!

Oh is there a game? Is Joe still on? I've never seen it this quiet.

that's because most-all tech hockey fans have moved on to the Tech Hockey Guide discord channel...

...and trust me, it's a blast over there.

It sucks over there. Here, people tend to put a modicum of thought into their posts. There, people type whatever pops into their head and hit 'enter'. It's usually off-topic.

I am unwilling to provide my personal information to discord in order to sign up. Rightly or wrongly.

However, I want to add, that if you haven't started watching Tech's soccer team on flo, you should. It's good.
