Thought I would get a new thread going for the upcoming season with a look at the incoming class:

    Heads up re season tickets

last spring I did the reserve your seats thing
this morning I got an email asking me to complete the order. Apparently Harvard has hired a new vendor to handle online ticket purchases. I could not log in and spent 20+ minutes trying.
I ended up calling the office at 617-495-2211. Took several tries but I got through finally and was able to complete the order. They gave me a choice of paper or electronic tickets. I chose paper due my growing distrust of the ticket vendor.
my suggestion to all is to avoid wasting time and just phone the ticket office
    good luck

The team's schedule for the upcoming season:

      2023-24 Men's Ice Hockey Schedule - Harvard University (gocrimson.com)

Notable games including back-to-back against UMass and BC at Bright and a Desert tournament in Arizona the first week of January. From the middle of January to the end of the regular season, the team only has one road trip to Union and RPI (I'm not counting the trip to Quinny because it's a one game and home situation).

I gave up trying to do the online thing and just call the ticket office or stop by if I'm in the area to get my tickets. Sometimes I just walk up and buy before the game if we're playing a team such as Brown or Princeton.

The ASU tournament might be interesting. Even more interesting will be how the program bounces back from a tough end to a pretty good year. The departures hurt but there is obviously still plenty of talent remaining and another promising set of recruits.

Defensively and in goal, we should be fine. Up front, not so much. We lost a ton of goals when Farrell, Coronato, and Laferriere took their talents to the NHL. Hoping that one or two of the frosh step up this season but with young teams, it takes a while to gel. Expecting a sixth or seventh-place finish.

John Farinacci signs with the Bruins. Couldn't come to an agreement with Arizona who drafted him and decided to talk to Boston. The Bruins need young centers in the worst way possible so this hopefully will be a good signing for both sides.

There were two familiar faces at the Bruins' training camp: John Farinacci and Reilly Walsh. Seems they have both been assigned to the Providence team.

Well, an 18 round shootout to decide last night's game has to be some kind of record, college or pro. And it took Jack Bar to win it. Kudos to both goalies who stood tall in this game. Harvard is sorely lacking in offensive finish. Hoping that the frosh will continue to grow into their games as the season progresses. We may be playing a number of OT games this year.

We attended last night's game at Dartmouth, as I had never been there before. It was great to see live action again. The outcome we witnessed last year in Bridgeport was so dismal, I was eager to forget--although I will likely never forgive. So... the 18 round shootout was just an absurd outcome. But of a different ilk! I really don't enjoy the format, but it is here to stay so I must cope.

There are some talented players in the first year class. Of course, it's going to take some time for them to play with more cohesiveness. Some tough opponents in the next month.

This will be a season filled with peaks and valleys. Lots of 2-1 games if Harvard is going to have success given the youth and lack of high-end forwards relative to last year. OT and shootouts were automatic last year. As exciting as the 18 rounder was, it also confirmed ever we knew relative to last year. If Harvard can get a first round bye, they will have done really well this year.

Agree. There is an article in today's Boston Globe where the team talked about the youth movement and how it will take time for them to gel offensively. Defense and goaltending will have to carry them through the New Year.

Two games, two ties, a split in the shootout. One disturbing trend has emerged already. We are not very good at winning faceoffs. Princeton handled us at the dot all night and that translated into a wide shot disparity. Someone has to work with the centers to correct this and soon.

An embarrassing performance at home against a quinny team that is good, but would not hold a candle to last year’s Quinny team. Tonight’s game should have been worse. It was not remotely competitive. Going to be a long season in Cambridge.
