Way way less than that it's been called a 5 minute contact with the head than that play. Clymer is the worst.

I am very concerned that these guys took OSU too lightly. I listened to the pregame for game one driving into the women's hockey game and all Posick did was talk about was how Wisconsin's never swept OSU at OSU before, really oozing overconfidence. I sure hope the team didn't have that same feeling because it sure looked like they did. Or maybe I should hope that that's what the problem really was.

Now you have the concern that since they're on a little skid here they're having a grip their sticks too tight and that leads to poor play as well.

I really didn't get a chance to watch either game due to being at the women's sweep of Minnesota which was mega sweet of course..

At a minimum it should have been 2 minutes for charging.

        • I’m not even looking forward to the games this weekend. This team has been playing like crap for the last month or so.

          • I'm looking forward to the chip on their shoulder they BETTER have after last weekend. They were embarrassed in Columbus and hopefully come out breathing fire against PSU in their barn. If they can do some damage there, then I'll comfortably look towards the NCAAs (and to a lesser extent B1G playoffs) with nervous excitement instead of nervous dread. On Wisconsin!

            • While I agree it has been a little disappointing lately, I also remember a year (2005-2006) where Wisconsin was 18-2-2 in January after starting 1-1-1 (that 17-1-1 stretch was a fun time), only to go on a 3-5 stretch with Shane Connelly in net and then 0-2-1 after Elliott came back, putting the Badgers at 21-9-3 on February 25th (on 2/20/2024 WI is 22-8-2). Certainly Elliott was a better goalie than Connelly, and there isn't a significant injury to a star player providing a simple reason for the recession in results for the current team, but I have no reason to believe this team won't get their heads straight and get back to elite hockey and results.

It seems often that championship teams have a stretch where the focus wanes and they have a dip before they get it together. Nobody knows if that will happen this year but I believe a few losses and people doubting them has the potential to light a fire. If not, so be it, but I'm not too worried yet. If you have told me at the beginning of the year we would be #6 in the PW and 22-8-2 there is no way I would have believed it. STAY POSITIVE!!!!
              I love hockey!!!

Yep. The 1990 champs had a bad stretch too where they were 2-4, beat UAA in OT (7-6 yikes & w.T.f!), split at UMD, then lost at St. Cloud and at home to NM back to back. Then they went on a tear. They also had a 5-4 stretch earlier in the season as well.

The players that remain from TG's era can't allow those negative thoughts from the past and bad habits creep back. I trust that the new coaching staff will get the lads going in the right direction. This is not their first rodeo.

                • I agree, it's been a rough stretch, but I too am staying positive. The team is in an excellent position to make the NCAA tournament, something I wouldn't have believed there was a chance at to begin the season. I'm not saying they should be satisfied, and I'm sure they're not, with just being where they are at this point in the season. The fact remains they are in control of their own destiny, they don't need anyone else to lose to make room for them. They don't even have to win the rest of their games although that would be amazing, especially the series against Michigan State. I'm going to watch them and enjoy a winning season for a change and keep rooting for them. Like I said, they are almost certain to make the NCAA tourney, and once there, anything can happen. Now, do they look as sharp as say BU or BC? Nope, but there's still over a month of hockey before the tourney, plenty of time to polish the rough edges and play like they did at the beginning of the season. Go Red!

                      This!!

Wisconsin is on their way to the NCAA’s for only the 2nd time in 10 years? C’mon, every championship caliber team at UW has had rough patches. At least iirc 1990, 2006 teams did and I’m sure the 1992 team had rough patches as well. I’ve blocked out most of that season because the zebras thought LSSU should win the title. But I digress.

old habits have crept in, injuries too (Lindmark will be out again and he’s a vital piece) but 22-8-2 is a far cry from anyone’s expectations. Or anyone outside the locker room.

**** ‘em’ Bucky! Let’s get to 7 nattys this season!

wait…I mean let’s get to 8 nattys this season because Wisconsin trounced LSSU in 92 sans the 4 or 5 5x3 penalties the LSSU assistant coaches on the ice called on Wisconsin.
Everything in its right place, Wisconsin Hockey National Champs!

I'd rather just forget that game personally.

How would a team who vacated their appearance in 1992 be credited with a title?
