Coach Hastings has done a good job developing talent so if he thinks a guy is worthy of wearing the jersey then I’m all in. Not every recruit is going to come in and light it up right away - some take time.
          Signature under construction.....bids being accepted.

I like seeing the high scoring bchl guys come in. They take a bit of time to get up to speed, but at least they have shown scoring touch in the past. If you haven't scored a lot in the Canadian jrs or the ushl you're not gonna score a lot in college.

I love that all 3 of the transfers are Canadians! I hope Hastings reopens that pipeline. I never liked the idea of signing so many Wisconsin kids just because they’re in state.

Behind a pay wall for me - how much of a bump did the new assistants get?

"The new staff of head coach Mike Hastings, associate head coach Todd Knott and assistant coach Nick Oliver will earn a combined $1.165 million in their first season together, according to their contracts.

That's just over $126,000 more than the latest available contract salary figures for the former staff of Tony Granato, Mark Osiecki and Andy Brandt."

I find this shocking that the they actually stepped up and paid these guys that much. That has to be one heck of a raise for Oliver and probably Knott as well.

There can be some great WI kids (Suter, ChaChing, Pavs), but for the most part they are role players at best that often times too much was expected of them, especially from TG.

Yeah, we’ve had Byce, Snedden, Carter, Pavs, Suter and Caufield but the overwhelming majority are really 4th line talent imo.

i don’t want to trash the players it’s not their fault but Wisconsin HS hockey is just not good enough to produce more than 1-2 legitimate top 2 line guys every few years. All of the top 15 Minnesota schools could schedule the best WI HS and they’d win 90% of the time I think.

Comparing Wisconsin HS hockey to Minny HS is an apple to an orange. Beyond just the sheer quantity of kids playing, Minny kids will more often than not hang around and finish their senior year in high school. Good Wisky kids are going to be playing juniors often their junior year in high school and most like by their senior year.
