  • The 'Slop was a fantastic and spunky little forward, IIRC his career was cut a little short by injuries.

    Here's a little video bit on Hislop (the "H" in C-H-C) the only one of the 3 to really "make" the NHL.

      ....had forgotten we lost all 3 games with them this past season giving them 3 of their 5 wins. Not relevant to this story and I wish them well moving forward.

      • Terrible news for UVM, they were trending the right way for the first time in awhile. Mike McMahon with CHN had tweeted his top 10 most improved teams going into next season and UVM was 3rd in the nation.

        • Bummer for UVM, especially after cancelling the second half of their 1999-2000 season and suspending five players for five games and the team being put on probation for the entire 2016-2017 season, both for hazing incidents.

          • What a shame for UVM Men's Hockey ... Gutterson must have been built on a Native American burial ground or something. Better to be Champs of November than Undefeated Hazing Champions of the World, I suppose. But the good news in Burlington VT is this one barely cracks the Top Three UVM Hockey scandals of all time:

            (3) Inappropriate texting with student athletes (2023);
            (2) Hazing scandal involving frosh players and alcohol in their skivvies (2016); and ...

              • I don't know/pretend to know the answer ... but relative to the well-publicized events this week at UVM, is it notable that the internal investigation was overseen by UVM's Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity, unless there were racial overtones? Asking those with insight into state university admin structure (Darius?) ...

                    Of course, the hockey players we follow are all among the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action. 1) males and 2) athletes.

                    Just by checking "male" they automatically leap ahead of girls who are more qualified, just because universities want that "50/50 affirmative action quota" even though they score well below female applicants on the tests.

                    And as for athletes, well, Chris Bourque.

                    • Watcher, I have to take HUGE exception with your misogynistic, racist and anti-trans posting that borders on hate speech. Did you even look to see how many times that you referred to sperm secreters and menstruating people by they/their invalidated terms? These micro-aggressions need to stop, this is USCHO, not a Jason Aldean concert. With unfounded rhetoric like this, how are we going to save democracy? FOLLOW THE SCIENCE, WILL YOU!
