RPI 2023 Off-season: We March Fourth Into the Off-season

Are you with the Army War College? My memory of Carlisle is the War College, Dickinson and then nearby facilities for virtually every trucking and logistics company you can imagine because its at the junction of two major interstate highways.

I had an assignment at the War College back in the 1970's as the highest ranking medical officer. I was a major at the time. I found I was virtually the lowest ranking fellow at the place! I never saw so much brass in my career. i recall the place being incredibly spotlessly clean and for one of the few times in my 25 years in the Army Reserve (after some active duty earlier) I had to stick to all the Army rules and play the game. The other times were my tours at Fort Dix which at the time was a training base and a basic training center. usually as a physician they were rather relaxed about the rules for medical personnel. I happened to hear Smitty radio interview on 104.5 Team on Friday. They had him on to discuss the schedule release, etc. Smitty was on the road in Calgary on a recruiting trip.... No real earth shattering news other than he likes the incoming class a lot ( cannot/did not discuss individual players) and feels the team will be better than last years squad. He went out his way to address the fans to assure t that Muzzatti will return for the fall and Smith expects that his name will be called in the upcoming NHL draft ..."... scouts and evaluators know who he is...."

Schedule wise he is very pleased with the tough early non-conference slate and that the teams we are visiting will be coming to Troy on reciprocal visits over the next few years.

According to that interview, the incoming class announcement is coming soon. They are waiting for the NCAA to clear the players.
With that, I'll take my yearly (very wrong) guess at the jersey numbers:

I also think Finn Brown will switch to #16, but that's not part of the guessing :-)

We haven't had a day over 90 degrees yet and I'm starting to think toward hockey season. I was looking at the roster and it suddenly occurred to me that I have no idea who the captains will be on this team. Usually after watching guys develop for 2 or 3 years I can guess most of the on-ice leadership. Between the pandemic, transfers and just the chaos of recent years I don't have that same feel. Any guesses?
