I think you have the advantage in net and will win today. I also think you would beat Cornell. Denver? I would say it probably ends there.

Sean posted on the UNH board that he reviewed the handshake line and there was really nothing out of the ordinary between Borek and Hutson. I trust his opinion. So many jumped on Borek for something that "someone" perceived as a slight to Hutson when there was really nothing there.

Consider the context: Parker and Walsh were ALWAYS in contention for the top spot, so their chances or returning to the title game were far greater. Very likely BU will be back next year. For Merrimack, this may have been a once in a decade or more opportunity (although I hope that's not the case).

Let's cut the guy some slack.

Borek has plenty of experience on how a coach should act appropriately after a loss.

Who thinks we will take this thing? Lost a top shot blocker in McCarthy and great speed in Zabaneh. However, we get Skoog back and Fensore seems like a go, but maybe not 100%. Commesso is playing at his peak. This is where the depth has to shine through and you have to have the will to win. Get through the first 5 minutes and then play with poise. Seniors will need to lead by example. Do those things and we have a great chance with the games being played in New England. I will be taking off early from work to watch live. I really wanted to fly up this year since I have minimal travel to Tampa, but it didn’t work out. (I haven’t been to regional since 93!). For those of you going, give some extra volume for me. This can be the year we’ve all been waiting for. Go BU!

Tough weekend for me to have to travel - caught a little of the semis on a flight, saw the result when I landed (the feed cut out), and Saturday night watched the ESPN+ replay starting at around 11pm (without knowing the result). A few comments on the many topics:
    - Obviously a great weekend for BU. The RS trophy is nice but to win the tourney title is special. I'm thrilled for the seniors. To pull that off without three guys you had starting Friday is a testament to the depth of the team.
    - On the subject of "going for it" or being cautious and saving guys for the NCAAs. You get to the final four in HE, you have a pretty good shot at a trophy. Being one of 16 including some teams that should be able to beat you - much less chance of finishing number 1. I'm glad they went all out on Saturday night.
    - Before seeing the comments about Borek in the handshake line, I was already losing respect for Borek. I will admit I haven't followed too closely. In addition to the things posted here, I wasn't fond of his quote about how if Merrimack didn't make the NCAA's after their season, then the system is broken. I get advocating for your team (even though it doesn't do any good given the PWR criteria), but something more along the lines of "I really think our team deserves a shot in the national tournament, and I am hopeful that they get that opportunity" or something along those line would have shown more class.
    - Lane Hutson is obviously a special player. (BTW, Cole doesn't arrive until 2024, so if Lane wants to play with both brothers he'll need to stay 2 more years). The good news for BU is that his size still has to be considered an issue for the next level. And whether or not his "jukes" will work in the NHL remains to be seen. For all the magic he creates with his feet, skating isn't his strong suit the way the way it is for Makar and Dahlin, two current NHL defensemen who are very shifty. So I hope this means that he will be here for 2 more years. I know the Hab fans are seeing all the point comparisons to Fox, Makar, etc. and getting excited, but I don't think they realize that he still is far from ready for the NHL, IMHO. It's been a treat to watch him for sure.

Mookie loves it as that means a watchable 9p puck drop for mookie here in the Middle East. :-)

Agreed. Sorry, RENCEB, but his head was DOWN, he never even looked at Hutson and barely touched his hand. That's not revisionist history...that's a fact. I saw it.

That having been said (or as everyone says today, "That being said"), I'll drop it. On to hopefully bigger and better things!

I snapped this pic during the postgame celebration, as it pretty much summed up Borek’s behavior - like a toddler sulking after being told he can’t have ice cream for breakfast.

I grew up in Maine, sat on the bench as a kid for the Blue/White game with Montgomery, Snow, and Dunham, and was at the “1” against BU for Maine’s 42-1-2 season in ‘93, so I experienced the best of the Parker/Walsh rivalry. A lot of it was an act to get players and fans fired up, and it worked. But this? Nah, it’s not the same.

And if memory serves, Shawn Walsh was the one who raised the issue with regards to Michigan's maize colored jersey they brought out for NCAA play. My understanding was that yellow/gold/maize jersey's can only be worn if the other team is wearing dark jerseys. But not worn at all during NCAA play? (Which is too bad, because I love the Michigan maize.)

Wow, thanks for the explanation and it makes sense.

You can't? I am! (My 8th grader is a straight A student and her middle school teacher mom sanctions that she's playing hooky with me on Thursday.). #MemorableLifeEventsFor$100Alex

Speaking of announcers, I love Billy Jaffe. Is he doing color for a regional?

I really do try to not be a dinosaur, but just can’t bring myself to watch more than a short video on my phone. Tablet, I will. In fairness, I have and like a really small phone.

Unless the Manch final goes to OT, I should miss a only little of the Fargo final. On Thursday, I’d prefer MN/Canisius be the early game like BU is. St. Cloud/MN ST is the one game I will miss completely.

As I said, (and you 'younger folks' might not even be able to imagine this), there was a time where we had to read about it in the next day's newspaper - that's a big, book of really thin, smelly paper that people would buy at a newstand to get the latest news. That's IF they bothered to even have the score in it...there used to be a game on occasionally on PBS (Channel 2 in Boston), but that was usually the Ivy League. Or Providence College basketball...then later, maybe in the 70s or early 80s there would be a weekend game (with Bob Gamere or John Carlson) on once in a while. Today you can get anything you want 24/7 so whenever they want to have the game is fine with me as long as I can see it (and if I can't, I can record it on my DVR). Remember the days when you had to use a VCR and the tape would run out if the game ran too long? I'm very happy...let the games begin.
I remember calling the Globe sports desk and being given the BU game result.

And on Saturday night, Comcast's DVR block for the game ended after regulation. Shame on me.
