Surprised he didn’t make a better pro. Saw Boldy yesterday hate the sob lol but he’s very good. Thought Greenway had similar tools to him and Alex Tuch who has 30 goals. BTW Tuch may end up as best player in the Eichel trade

In the end though our two best players (Hutson, Commesso) won them the title against two teams that couldn't quite match that talent. So, they made up for it with a better gameplan and more inspired play. I'd really like to see BU stop coming out flat in big games, which Pando must have learned from Parker! Also they're getting knocked off the puck on their rear ends way too often. Would like to see the team come out much more aggressively from the get go next game.
Nothing wrong with that, sort of what big time players are supposed to do, right?

As expected from less talented teams. BU hung tough and their talent won.

I thought this got better as each game and the weekend went on. Credit due to the Terriers for this especially with so many missing and playing injured (I couldn't keep track) players.

Also, y'all feel free to hit me up with questions about experiencing the Queen City. Go BU!

I will not be out cheered in my own building.

Thompson has 42. He was a terror a UConn while he was there.

          • Tip of the cap to Lane Hutson, he is scary good. He is such an offensive threat, like Keller and Zagras, when they step onto the ice you have mindful of where they are and what they are doing both with and without the puck.

Actually, they changed the rule and now a coach can make as many challenges as they want to:

Rule 93.7 Team Timeout Request/Coach's Challenge - A coach may challenge a ruling in accordance with Rule 93.4. If a coach's challenge is unsuccessful, that team's timeout will be charged the first time it occurs in a game. The second and subsequent times a play is challenged and not overturned, a bench minor penalty for delay of game shall be assessed. If the team has already utilized their timeout for any reason, a bench minor penalty will be assessed on the first challenge of the game.

So, Coach Leaman could have challenged for a 5-minute major on the Skoog hit, but either he didn't think it was actually a 5-minute major, or he didn't know the rule.

              • And clearly it seems they love playing for Jay. Which makes a huge difference (this is a positive comment - I am making NO assertions about anyone else). What made me think of it was watching Jake DeBrusk this afternoon, with ANOTHER goal and assist. He's like a completely different person since Cassidy has been gone.

Or maybe he thought it was a 5-minute major, but the cost of being assessed a 2-minute minor wasn’t worth the risk of the refs not having enough video evidence to overturn the call.

The Sabres are improved but SB better. They are mailing it in today. I understand Eichel’s frustration there but he didn’t cover himself in glory either

Minor quibble: they wouldn't be overturning the call (and that can't be done in college hockey), but would be upgrading the call.

And if he didn't request a review because he thought the cost of being assessed a 2-minute minor wasn't worth the risk that shows that not having a free challenge does make a difference. I think they need to eliminate the "free" challenge and go back to getting a minor if the challenge fails.

BTW, Coach Borek challenged BU's game-winning goal for offsides when it was clearly onside, showing how little sportsmanship now exists in the coaching ranks. That's all three overtime goals challenged this weekend when all three appeared to be clean goals when seen live. And Coach Borek also violated the uniform rule by having Merrimack wear the gold jerseys as the visiting team, despite that not being an option in postseason play (and regardless whether or not Coach Pandolfo agreed, as that option is only for regular season games).

I wasn't going to bring this up, because it seemed as though it was petty, especially after we just won. But I noticed in the handshake line last night Borek didn't even look at Lane Hutson and barely touched his hand. I initially chalked it up to the disappointment of a sudden OT loss. I get it that he has to display a "tough" demeanor in front of his team, because they need to play with that personality. But I just thought that was somewhat classless.

"Appeared to be" onside? A linesman couldn't have missed those calls if they were blind.

Funny you said that because I thought that was odd myself when I saw it he literally looked away. I don’t know him from Adam but his demeanor is very off putting.

                          • Re: Jordan Greenway, I thought the there were times at BU that he didn't affect a game. Then there were times when he was a load to handle. Maybe he's still learning how to get that done in the NHL.

                            • Also...tomorrow is the 75th birthday of the greatest hockey player to ever live. That, of course, would be one Robert Gordon Orr. Indisputable. Period...end of discussion.

                              • I think you should get one challenge. If your challenge fails you get an immediate minor for delay of game. If you win you keep the challenge. Once you lose a challenge you cannot challenge anything else.

What happened this weekend with the coaches who lost in OT was embarrassing and it takes away from the moment of an OT winner. There were at least 4 coaches who challenged on OT goals where there was absolutely nothing to review. Happened in all three HE games and one or two other games.
