  • It was good to see the team we’ve been watching all year back last night. It appears that surviving Friday got the bright lights jitters out of their system.

Now it’s an injury issue. Zab’s has been my favorite Terrier since February. Hate to see him down.

How much ice time did #15 get last night?

      • A few tidbits while nursing a bit of a championship hangover (I’m getting too old to go out after games - heh. And sigh):

I liked how all the seniors were part of the trophy handoff. And not just the captains.

How did that Merrimack player not get even a 2-minute penalty for that hit on Fensore?

The hats and t-shirts given the the players were generic and didn’t have the BU logo. I have a hat from a previous championship that did. I feel like Hockey East kinda cheated out on that.

The BU Band was exceptional this weekend. I loved that they played the national anthem rather than getting a singer.

Former Terrier goalie JP McKersie was in the crowd last night.

The North Station area was a bit of a **** show. The Hockey East Championship has taken place over St. Patrick’s Day Weekend before but this huge pub crawl made it almost unbearable. And I was walking by a policeman on my way into the Garden while the BU Band was playing Shipping Up to Boston and a woman asked him what was the occasion and he said “I don’t know.” Um, ok.

Based on his play, I’m thinking Lane has a very strong chance at being one of the Hobey final three. I doubt he’ll win but I think he should make the final three.

        • If they are still doing the massive gap in game times to stagger the 4 games on Thursday I am pretty sure it will be Denver-Cornell at Noon and then you guys won't play till like 6. That's what it was last year and they actually let you leave rink after game one and then come back for game 2. If they go back to a true doubleheader then who knows what times will be. I would think at the earliest a 3:30 start for you.

Right now the Thursday games are listed as 2:00 and 5:30----

              • Congrats to the Terriers. Skill level difference was on full display; that's what you should get every night from a team with 12 draft picks and 8 USA U-18 Team (NTDP) players. Merrimack made it tough, clogging the shooting lanes, hitting and generally grinding throughout.
Hutson's winning goal was an example of "any shot is a good shot". He is a special player. There is a "McDavid/Bedard" quality to his game as you can't take your eyes of him when he has the puck. Absolutely incredible skater and supremely confident with the puck. I'm guessing you'll only have him for 1 more year so he gets to play with his brothers.
Great goal by Kaplan. Really strong on the puck and a nice shot.
Was that the "Original Sasquatch" on the JumboTron or Sasquatch 2.0? My eyes were seared and I will not be able to un-see that!
Complaining about the refs is a loser's lament. Not going there.
Good luck in Manchester. LFG Hockey East!!

I saw that but wasn't sure if official. That would be a return to the old format.

Because 2:00 PM on a work / school day is a great way to maximize attendance.

This was the box office personnel understanding when I purchased tix back in December. "Don't lose your tickets between games. You will need them to reenter for the second game and again on Saturday."
I will not be out cheered in my own building.

With the other Thursday regional being in Fargo this sounds like a Noon/6 PM slate in Manchester. Be thankful it's highly likely that Denver/Cornell gets the Noon slot. With the day off on Friday it doesn't really matter who gets the first game but my guess is that's how it will play out here.

                        • I'm thrilled about the win but concerned about how we went about it. In the end though our two best players (Hutson, Commesso) won them the title against two teams that couldn't quite match that talent. So, they made up for it with a better gameplan and more inspired play. I'd really like to see BU stop coming out flat in big games, which Pando must have learned from Parker! Also they're getting knocked off the puck on their rear ends way too often. Would like to see the team come out much more aggressively from the get go next game.

                            Yes it was!

Random PWR question for those with with more knowledge about it - back in October, in the home game with UML, we all thought BU scored to win the game with, like, 8 seconds to go. The goal was called back, and then BU won it in OT. I remember after the game someone had said that OT wins count less in the PWR blah blah blah. So, had that goal counted in regulation, would BU be sitting at #4 and a number one seed? Am I remembering it correctly?
