Looks like we're getting snow Friday night/Saturday morning. Plowable. Though, yesterday we were supposed to get plowable snow and hardly anything fell where I live.
I believe that is correct, but the vastly preferred position is #1, as that will assure that we play the weakest remaining seed in the quarter finals, and likewise in the semi-finals. Let Merrimack and NU pound each other in the semi's, assuming we all make it that far. Finishing the regular season second or third is much less attractive. We have the pole position now, and can retain it by playing our best brand of hockey this weekend.

Score first. BU is 17-0-0 when scoring first.

Despite the relative closeness of the final score on Saturday @ Vermont, I thought BU played better that night compared to Friday. They played fast, loose, with confidence yet disciplined. Hope they build on that and don't have to rely on getting help from Lowell (in the Lowell-NU series) this weekend.

      • Or Vermont. They're playing Merrimack.

        • Does anyone know if BU is going to be selling the red jerseys with the dog head on it?

I KNOW!!!! And obviously the vastly preferred position is #1 but I'm trying to prepare for the worst. Have these people just met me?? And about 10 minutes ago I got an updated meeting invite for our bi-monthly full team meeting moved from Monday, March 20 to Friday, March 24. Which I already booked as being out of the office as I'm hoping to either be in person or at the very least watching an NCAA tournament game. Will I be? Like, what happens if they get swept and lose their quarterfinal game and don't even get to the Garden? I'm not going to accept or decline till after the quarterfinal game. Gah! I hate when work responsibilities and NCAA hockey playoffs collide.

On a similar note, I saw the email about ordering playoff tickets. In that email were links to purchase HE tournament and NCAA tournament tickets. Are they no longer offering tickets to STHs? Going to have to ask that on Friday night.

I agree with Scarlet’s concerns. BC is a bad matchup for a top seed in quarters. They have outplayed BU for the majority of the periods in their matchups imo. Plus they have a strong PP. That said if you can avoid NU/MC in semis yes that’s preferred.

No heart attacks intended!! That said, the standings, as of tonight pair BC and UNH. UNH has been playing very good hockey after a horrid stretch opening the season. They dropped their two games to BC in that stretch. And they've beaten some tough teams in the second half of the season. BC still has to get past them to go to the quarters. And UMass and even Vermont are capable of upsets. It isn't a foregone conclusion that BC will be the lowest seed after the opening round. I stand by my stated preference for the #1 seed

                  • Well looks like first place is out of the picture. JFC. Senior night. Sure let’s give up two goals in the first four minutes.

                    • Oh my - are you kidding me? Not that they can’t come back, but really? 2-0 out the gate? Commesso is a good goalie, but I just get the feeling sometimes his head is not in the game. The first one is absolutely unacceptable in a game where a league title is on the line. In fact it’s unacceptable for any D1 goalie on top teams at any time.

                      • Way to right the ship (at least on the offense!). Wish we could have done that in a few of the games on the losing streak. Things falling into place for the regular season title and the #1 seed with us up 2 and NU down 2 in the 3rd!

Commesso should have been pulled after the second goal. Both were soft, as was one of the later ones (making the initial save and then leaving the goalpost wide open). He needs to know he can't play sloppy hockey and still start all the time. It was message time for him.

The win was gritty, and the officiating..., dismal.

                            • Anyone know how to fix a goalie? Our goalie is broken. : ( Seriously, 3 of the 4 he gave up were wicked soft. I’m mean, woof.

And Skoog has a lot of Brad Marchand in him.

                              HE regular season champs. Weeee.

                              BU Hockey: Concerned.

I can’t see BU making a run with Commesso in goal snd the D turnovers. And the guy that makes me crazy is Peterson. Commesso concentration is very noticeably off for much of the season. The formula they got going now isn’t going to fly In tournament play. Inconsistent goalie, D turnovers, dumb penalties, subpar PP. Lane Hutson covers up a lot of problems
