  • Ah the old Parker stern talking to after an inappropriate celebration. We all know the most famous one was what caused him to not see Travis' injury.

I have to think that Pandolfo has figured out just how much of that to carry into his coaching, while still adjusting his style for "the times".

    • Taking the opportunity with no games this weekend to watch some other action. Minnesota-Wisconsin and Michigan-Michigan St. Dropped to 4 with the Michigan win last night , but I believe we can move back to 3 with a Michigan loss tonight and a win over BC on Monday. Looking at the Michigan scoresheet from last night there was a fight with game DQ’s to Fantilli and someone from Michigan St. Lots of penalty minutes overall.

Does anyone think the crowd could be more significant than for a normal consolation game with BU-BC? This is a first, so I guess we’ll see. 4:30 on a Monday is tough. I know if I lived in the area, I would definitely go.

      • For sure this is a record for Barbara Green references on the BU thread. I can’t comment on her singing, but her father used to man the turnstile at the entrance to WBA. A very nice guy.

          I did not know that!

Sooooo, had BU won on Monday…and with Minnesota losing to Wisconsin last night…what would have been the odds of heading into the Beanpot final as the #1 team in the country?

Yeah….you’d have to jump #2 team in the land who just had BACK to BACK shutouts…good try though….maybe you might get to #2 though

You are correct. There is no way to watch the game unless you are there in person.

                  • It's honestly silly. These games often have PWR implications and no one is gonna pay full price or even higher on the secondary market to leave work early to watch the consolation game. There are cameras shooting the game as there is a jumbotron feed so why doesn't the TD Garden just stream that on their website? I believe they've done that for Bruins preseason games or at least the Bruins black/white game

Speak for yourself! Consolation game or no, it's still a game on their schedule and I already paid for the ticket so by golly, I will be there. I will most likely miss opening faceoff by a bit, though.

I'm be on a 3:57 train from Greenwood (Haverhill line). See you in the Loge. My tix are in the balcony, but I don't think I'll have a problem "squatting" in the loge seat for the first game.

I'm looking forward to my first Beanpot consolation game much more than I should be. #GhostGarden

                          I'm in Loge 2.

While I am loathe to look ahead, I checked out the HE playoff page and saw this about the QF rounds:

The Hockey East Men’s Tournament will again be an all-in format. Seeds six, seven, and eight will host seeds 11, 10, and nine, respectively, in the Opening Round set for Wednesday, March 8, 2023. After a reseeding, the top three seeds will host the winners of the Opening Round while the four seed will host the five seed in the Quarterfinals on Saturday, March 11.

I know the 6/7/8 vs 11/10/9 games are one game. But the QFs that weekend are one game you're win you're in? No more two out of three?

Correct. This system was used last year as well.
