    • Random question about the portal - if a player enters and no team gets him to join, does he stay with his initial team?

The player can return, but it's not guaranteed. Once they enter the portal they essentially become a free agent, the team generally considers them gone and fills their spot. So far, it's been exceedingly rare that a player in any sport entered the transfer portal and returned to their previous team.

Fletcher Tynan on the BU basketball team entered the portal but return for his fifth year. It can happen.

If the players are on scholarship, that scholarship has often been earmarked for an incoming player. A player could stay, and pay, without a scholarship. But if they are getting money, they are usually looking for money.

He's a sophomore, so it may not have been known he'd enter the portal like the over Ivy seniors looking to use their Covid year. He put up a 2.49/.921 on a pitiful Brown team. If he were to transfer here, it'd be almost impossible for Vinny to be the #1 guy over him - at best he'd be splitting time and he may want to find a spot where he can start.

Best of luck to him, he put up some phenomenal efforts for us in his time.
Vinny was a quality #2, or a #1B. I thought he would be the regular starter while Chambre finds his feet. He was great in the 2022 Beanpot, with a 1-0 shutout in the final. That will be his legacy.
Some team will be getting a quality goalie. Good luck to him!

Is it worth giving Armstrong a scholarship versus an incoming freshman? I don't think so. Not worth potentially losing a future 3-4 year player to have someone return for his 5th and play 4th line (stevens could argue that at center), but he could probably find some $ playing elsewhere. This staff needs to look down the road, not just next year.

              • Looks like the Terriers will have 3 goalie spots to fill (Chambre was injured all season - will he be ready to go) so I am assuming with the team they have coming back they will be looking for a few veteran tenders to man the pipes. This team should be an offensive wagon with the commits coming in.

I think people need to be very careful re ANY conjecture here, as to why someone entered the portal. There are surely things here beyond what anyone knows and it is a young student athletes future at stake here and I think people do not think about that all too often. What happens, happens.... It should not be about the "why" but rather more focus should be placed on the "what" - 1) what future opportunities present themselves to those that entered the portal. To resepct the players who gave it their all to represent the Program and 2) What future moves this incredible staff makes moving forward to take the next steps in the process of bringing this program back to where it belongs.

A friend of mine ordered these shirts from the website the day she got the email. She got an email yesterday that her order has shipped. So glad I got mine at the bookstore. Along with the hat, which was really nice.

                    • Very late to the party but fantastic season. We weren’t going to beat Minn. regardless of injuries. Things are looking very bright. Finally have the coach we want. Glad L. Hutson will be back. Will need a goalie or two.

                      • Jarman and Driscoll join the BU crowd in the transfer portal. Both struggled to find playing time even with a thin D corps

                          Can anyone view the portal?

To be quite honest, I didn't even remember them as BU players.

Portal can be seen at https://www.therinklive.com/mens-col...ransfer-portal

This is my one criticism of Jay. Having those kids suit up as 6th d-men and not touch the ice. I mean ….
                              It Happened!!!!

What is the conjecture? The portal really isn't all that complicated to figure out when you see a name mentioned. Speculating isn't doing any harm to anyone either.
