My gut:
Hutson - staying. even the Habs can see that he would benefit from another year.
Peterson and Tuch - I put these guys in the same place - maybe haven't developed as much as their NHL teams hoped, but given their physical tools, could still turn into NHLers. The question is would they rather that happen under Jay (while also risking losing their rights) or in the AHL?
Stevens and Armstrong - there seems to be lots of consensus hoping these guys come back for a 5th year. Really improved this year, just excellent 4th-liners
McCarthy - might he come back to play with his brother? I'm guessing no.
Webber - I really hope he returns but I could see his team (Carolina?) really wanting to sign him.
Probably right on McCarthy, although given the Devils' prospect depth at defense with several rated higher than Case, he might opt for another season at BU rather than bus rides between ECHL cities. Having Webber return would be huge. Best shot blocker and PK defenseman.
Brian Carrabes entered the portal today. Also, Mark Divver tweeted that Brown sophomore goalie Mathieu Caron entered the portal and "Keep an eye on BU."

Time for them to move on. Wishing them the best of luck, but our scholarship $ needs to go elsewhere.

Vinny is a bit surprising, but I think the factor that changed things is the availability of Caron from Brown, who BU is linked to right now. He's a sophomore, so it may not have been known he'd enter the portal like the over Ivy seniors looking to use their Covid year. He put up a 2.49/.921 on a pitiful Brown team. If he were to transfer here, it'd be almost impossible for Vinny to be the #1 guy over him - at best he'd be splitting time and he may want to find a spot where he can start.
Best of luck to him, he put up some phenomenal efforts for us in his time.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think it’s fair to assume that the coaching staff leveled with everyone about what to expect in terms of playing time next year. I can’t blame Vinny for trying to be a #1 somewhere. For me, Armstrong is the biggest surprise. He had a nice run this season and I have to believe he’d continue to have regular minutes next year.
