Yesterday I toured the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, Minn., in the Iron Range. Although it is primarily a Hall of Fame, it is also a museum for the sport in America. I saw the photo of Quinnipiac’s national championship-winning team in the College Hockey section and a display case honoring Harvard and the Beanpot tournament. And reference to Clarkson award-winning players. But anything related to Colgate and ECAC Hockey is really lacking. As a former sports museum administrator, I realize that you can’t display what you don’t have. I would like to see Colgate and the ECAC consider loaning or donating historically-significant memorabilia to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame for long-term display.

Thought folks here might find this of interest....
Times-Union ran an article over the weekend detailing new NY Legislation signed into law that clears the way for robust NIL activity in New York...preventing NCAA from meddling in NIL deals... Mentions Siena (M & W basketball and UAlbany lacrosse as NIL active...)
"...On June 30, Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill that prevents the NCAA, or any other organization with authority over college athletics, from entertaining a complaint, opening an investigation or taking any other adverse action against a college for involvement in an athlete’s name, image or likeness. While it doesn’t allow pay for play, it strengthens the NIL law that New York passed last year.
Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy, who co-sponsored the bill, explained Syracuse University, a high-major Division I school, lobbied hard for the legislation and Syracuse-area legislators backed it..."""Ralph is the Chuck Norris of this board. Ralph doesnt sleep he just waits." - fishcore12

Sixth non-conference opponent released (by Colgate)…
UConn at Colgate,
Saturday-Sunday, October 7-8, 2023.
UConn did NOT qualify for the NCAA tournament last season.
Thus, none of our non-conference opponents for this coming season played in the tournament last season. Our preliminary strength of schedule will be due to our playing fellow ECAC NCAA tournament teams Cornell, Harvard and national champion Quinnipiac.

Shabby, overall, I am happy with the 2023-24 schedule.
It seems pretty balanced:
homex2NC, travelx2NC, homex2NC,
travelx2, homex2, travelx2, homex2NC,
homex1, travelx1,
travelx2NC, travelx2NC, homex2, travelx2,
homex2, travelx2, homex2, travelx2,
homex2.
There is that holiday gap, but we have two Non-Conference (NC) road trips immediately after it to get our legs back under us.
As I have said before, I am more concerned that our NC opponents are not NCAA tournament teams from last season.
But, again, overall, I am happy with it.
I know now that I won't make the Brown/Yale away games, nor the LIU away series, but all others are currently in play for me.
I will venture up to Colgate later this week to purchase my parking pass and season ticket with Sullivan Suite access.
Go 'Gate!

Shabby, I do, but I pay the Sullivan Suite rate in order to get the access (for the nightly buffet). I don’t like looking down the ice from the Suite, so they are gracious enough to allow me to have a seat near center ice. When we get close to selling out the arena on a nightly basis, then I may have to choose one or the other location (and I will select the lower-priced mid-ice seat location).
