Does Andy McDonald have any coaching experience? I could see Jesse Winchester being interested. Dubais would certainly bring a different style (not necessarily a bad thing) and Brett Riley would already know the strengths and weaknesses of the program. What do posters want in a new Coach?

CU13, I only picked on Andy McDonald ‘cause TeacherBill asked about him.
I don’t spend a lot of time focusing on new recruits nor potential coaches, but I just look for youth in a coach (if you can’t lure a Gordon “Red” Berenson, Jerry York nor Dean Blais out of retirement). I learned long ago, as a Rotary Club international exchange student host, that there comes a time when old people just can’t really relate to young people. I would imagine that the same holds true with coaches and student-athletes.Last edited by iowabasedtraveler; 04-25-2023, 11:11 PM.

As a long time fan but infrequent contributor on the men's site, I respectfully suggest just the opposite. I feel we need a complete makeover in every respect as happened with the women. No disrespect intended but I feel ties to past Colgate teams or coaches would be limiting as I feel mediocrity was acceptable for a good part of the last 30 years. Unfortunately, I feel Gate football is and has made similar mistakes by going back to the well so often that we now have a very poor team with absolutely no creativity. Let's not make that mistake again here. Let's bravely go where no man, yadda, yadda...for at least a few years and see where it takes us. I know it's not the answer by any means and will certainly annoy many, but I would start with a new uniform that at least takes us out of the 18th century as I feel ours is the most boring in college hockey. Something a little snappier please...at least a third color somewhere...

Dana Borges and Alex Young both headed to Tempe?
If so, must have gotten Southwest’s ‘Companion Flies Free’ coupon from the Powers that be.Last edited by iowabasedtraveler; 04-29-2023, 10:58 AM.

I guess your college years are all but forgotten once you make it to the Big Leagues, though I thought MacDonald returned on occasion for the annual golf tournament.
When players transfer or leave (Wagner, Young), the writing is on the wall. Good for ASU, hope he helps the program achieve great success. Program continuity and a possible pro career are more important to him than a Colgate degree. More power to him.
Colgate hired Karweck, a Notre Dame MLax assistant without any ‘Gate connections or head coaching experience, and just gave him a miraculous contract extension. He’s been a disaster. The true miracle is Greg Fargo.
The longer the AD position remains unfilled, the more questions I have.C O L G A T E

Picked up my two Colgate game-worn jerseys from the dry cleaners today and hung them up in the closet.
So, it seems like a good time to update some of my lists (of things of which I like to keep track).

Colgate 0, Clarkson 4.
