I'm not sure what Armstrong will bring. He is certainly a serviceable forward.

I would be really worried that BC didn't get any commits thus far for the Fall of 2025, but not too many of the top end recruits have committed (for some reason).

    • BC also picked up a third Grad transfer in Jack Malone from Cornell, 8G 9A. It appears they are filling out their lines with some experienced size and penalty free players. Their depth is looking much deeper this year.

      • I found some good news regarding the transfer from BU. Armstrong apparently excelled on the checking line. He also won the Iron Terrier Award. That award is presented to the player who most exemplifies character, strength, dedication and discipline in the weight room and off-ice training. Sounds like a Greg Brown type of player.

        • Interesting situation, has this happened before, someone switching ends of Commonwealth Ave. Will add some spice to the series this year. Both teams should be very strong this year. Getting close to the start of the season, can't wait.

          • Last player to go from oe end of Comm Ave to the other might be Bruce Milton?

Armstrong is a solid citizen, decent two-way forward. Not flashy, not afraid of contact. A good bottom six forward.

That would mean his granddad (maybe great granddad) was Bob Armstrong, who played D for the Bruins in the '50s and wore #4 before some kid named Orr showed up.

                • This year's roster came out. There are 16 forwards. I have to think the four guys sitting in the stands will typically be among the group of Timmy Delay, Paul Davey, Will Traeger, Connor Joyce, Mike Posma and Gentry Shamburger. Although, Shambuger is the only player wearing an "A" this season.

                  • Posma and Joyce both played every game last season. Barring injury I expect they will be fourth line regulars with Armstrong perhaps joining them.

I see where you're coming from, but I think it would be odd to see the team's only associate captain as a healthy scratch in the stands.

Given the level of talent on the blue line, I expect the extra skater to be a 7th defenseman. All that being said, injuries tends to have a say in who dresses and who doesn't.

                      • This is an absolutely stunning stat from last year: Shooting percentage, that is percentage of shots that were goals. Leading BC were in order: Gasseau 15.4, Posma 14.3, Gauthier 12.3 and Joyce 12.1. The two forward transfers Armstrong 16.1(better than any BC player) and Malone 12.1. A line of Posma, Joyce and Armstrong would have 3 of the top 6 in shooting percentage. Sounds like a formidable 4th line.

Wow, there's a blast from the past. You guys will love Jamie Armstrong. He's just an all-around great team player.

                            • BC’s recruiting since August 1st has been disappointing at best and dreadful at worst. BU has wiped the floor with us recently, and it is insanely frustrating. BU has Murtaugh (4.5 star), Fondrk (5 star), Tretheway (4.5 star), and Morin (5 star) so far. BC has Mutryn (4 star) and Cornforth (4 star). It’s looking like Cullen Potter (5 star) is going to commit to BU at some point too. Do Greg Brown and Staff realize they need to actually recruit players? If we lose out on James Hagens then it’ll be a complete disaster.

And Mutryn is a legacy, so you can only give them so much credit for him committing to BC in the first place.
