He should be a great addition no doubt-- I'd love to hear about how he chose RPI. He certainly hasn't lost his ability to put up points on a stacked Penticton squad. They've had a Bruins-esque record setting 50-3-1 regular season...led by the Maine bound Nadeau brothers.

IIRC they were the first BCHL team to pass 100 points. I hope that you are correct about Tinling, He has good games and he seems to disappear at other times.

          • Tinling is in a pretty poor spot right now. First off, he is not being challenged by the BCHL whatsoever. He is easily one of the most talented players in the league. Second off, he has it easy because he plays on a team so much better than everyone else. Third, he also has to take a back seat to the Nadeaus and Suniev, so he is centering the 3rd line and has to take a back seat on the power play.

Half the time he looks like he's not even trying because he doesn't have to. He's better than 99% of the league and is on an insanely stacked team. They have him centering the 3rd line for some reason. When he plays on the power play with the Nadeaus, he takes a back seat and is the net front guy. He's putting up numbers but I worry about his development due to not being challenged while also not being the centerpiece of the team. He should have stayed in the USHL.

Regardless, he'll have an adjustment when he first gets here, but he's good and quite talented

He's the net front guy at 5'11" 185? He may not be killing himself in that league but he's at least willing to take on a sub-optimal role (and probably a bit of a beating) if it's in the best interests of the team.

Oh yeah I'm not complaining about him; he's been a good player and teammate and done what's asked of him. I just don't think it's been the best for his development if you're looking at it from an RPI perspective.
