My recollection of your football hire is that it basically came out of nowhere. And you nailed that hire. Wasn't Alvarez AD who hired Granato? If that's the case I would cut this new guy some slack. If the football hire is any indication you're in good shape.Comment

Honestly, I like that.
I don’t know what I don’t know about his coaching, but his playing style was all heart and grit and performing above his skill level. His line with Licari and Degenhardt was something to behold. And quite frankly: they played in a way that Granato’s teams rarely did.

Twice over the last couple years, I happened to bump into Tony, entirely outside of any 'hockey related' activity or context, and ended up having a couple minute conversations each time, also entirely unrelated to hockey. Nice guy, funny. Really sorry it didn't work out better for him and for the UW team.
Here's hoping he lands on his feet in a good situation. But, yeah, it had to be done.Comment
