Follow up to yesterday's the conversation with Mr. Collins, it didn't take long for him to bring up the 2002 FF loss to Maine. Twenty years later, that one still hurts.

Since we are going down somewhat of a non hockey road as we await tonight's game, I'll say this about Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States. You can say all you want about him...but what you can never take away from him is his great sense of selflessness...all he's done on human rights front, all the homes he's built for Habitat for Humanity, his Nobel Peace prize. He has spent his LIFE in service to others. He has more decency in his pinkie finger than some "politicians" (who shall remain nameless and yes, I can include some Dems in this list).

Anyway, carry on.

Hockey Ref, I will agree with you on the humanity and humility of Jimmy Carter since he left office. More than almost any President in our history, he has used his position for good and to make the world better, while also not enrichenning himself or his family in the process (save for Billy Beer). With that being said, I just wish he had stayed in Georgia as the governor way back then and kept his niceness for the Peach state, and not the world at large. In most ways, we are in deja-vu all over again today, but the person in charge makes Billy Carter look like a mensa member. As Chuck mentions, learn from history or you are bound to repeat it.

Yeah, I saw that. Wow. From among the least penalized teams in D-1 to headhunting goons in just about 7 periods of play. Hard not to conclude that Coach Barr said something recently to get a response, and it appears he did (probably more than he wanted or expected TBF). Quick check of the UMaine thread shows their fans are none too happy with this development, and aren't making excuses about it either.

Not that anyone asked, UNH wins tonight 3-1 because (wait for it) ... MC will be overconfident.

Just as a point of clarification it is actually 4 majors/game misconducts in less than 5 periods of game time.

Personally I think it is refreshing that the UMaine fans are disgusted with the development. FWIW back When ME-UNH Games Still Mattered I wanted to hear what fans like walrus, rufus and acs64 thought more than many of the UNH fans on this board. I have always respected the Black Bear fanbase knowledge of things.

Politics aside, we need more Jimmy Carter's in the world, and a lot less of a few others who care about their own selfish gains. While I do not agree with your view of things necessarily, that is ok as 'to each their own' and I do my best to be respectful of that. Why is being 'nice' such a terrible attribute? I heartily agree you need a person of strength in positions of power, I get that...but sorry, I don't particularly care for the Putins of the world and others like him. Nope. God help the people of Ukraine. I am heartened by their stand they are taking.

Ok, am really done talking politics here...I do not wish to engage; given a recent heart thing going on, I just can't do it. Going to these games is enough!!

Thanks so much for letting me know about my trophy. Are you bringing it tonight? Oh that’s right you don’t go to games you just tell us how we did. At first I thought it was interesting that you notified me of my reward rather than some committee or organization, but then I remembered that you are the Judge and Jury. Like in all things, kinda like a Dictator! Interesting how this came full circle.
To the good folks of this forum I apologize for this diversion and I will try to stop this. But a Bully needs to be tamed and/or controlled.

I am feeling a 3-2 but can’t quite figure which team will show up.

And that has been the frustrating problem with this team for the past few seasons. Just when you start to feel a bit optimistic, you get a gut punch that brings you back to your senses! Win or lose, let’s hope they can finish this season off with some consistent play.

It would be even better if we could have more fans that do read these boards contribute to the hockey talk...and yes, 'Cats need to get it together from the get go and come out swinging. (Well...not literally haha) Posting to a message board isn't for everyone, and it takes all kinds to do so. That said I hope you'll become more of a 'frequent poster' rather than an 'infrequent poster'...I'd much rather discuss UNH hockey than anything else. Doesn't always work out that way though but I do pick and choose what i want to get involved in here. Welp, off to Dham....go 'Cats!!!

44: Donated lots of high quality, very comfy blankets
45: 210 Javelin missiles and 37 missile launchers (2018)
46: Nothing (zip zero nada) but talk as of Friday morning

I'll let everyone come to their own conclusions as to what has helped Ukraine most so far ...
