Hopefully we can have a more normal world and hockey continues with fans this year. We return a pretty solid core with more depth than in recent years. I'm fairly optimistic about our incoming frosh, we are still a very young team that gained experience having played Clarkson and Q-Pac a total of fourteen times last year. It all starts this weekend !

Can’t wait!!
I for one am happy that hockey season is finally returning to as close to a normal cadence as possible. A full 34-game schedule with 22 league games, and we resume our rivalries with Brown, Yale, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Union, RPI, and Cornell. As fans, we can finally make those road trips we used to make and visit the familiar hockey arenas, cheering on our team. Well, most of them. Not sure what paint the RPI admins are huffing, keeping us from visiting Houston Field House this season. As for me, I have visited 11 of 12 ECAC rinks. The only one I haven't been to yet is Princeton, and I'm hoping to finally check that off my "rinks visited" list this season. I'm also hoping to complete the Hockey East list as well (I'm at 7 of 11, with Colgate's games at Vermont and UConn checking off 2 of them).
But more importantly, we have an advantage over 8 of our league foes: we got to play games last season. And hopefully it'll give us a leg up on them. Especially the Ivies, who don't start play until the end of October. The puck drops in 3 days!Colgate '09

It’s a nice ferry ride, Iowa
Not sure playing last season has any advantage and not sure why we’re picked as high as we are, but we’re due for a breakout year just in time to save Don Vaughan’s behind.
From what I’ve seen on social media, are jerseys back to the iconic, diagonal lettering of yesteryear? Yesss!C O L G A T E

Rainman... I had to double-check... I am at 109 rinks in which I have seen hockey played... at all levels. SLU’s Appleton Arena was my all-time fave, until I went to Princeton’s Hobey Baker. As far as modern arenas go, I pick North Dakota’s Englestad over Penn State’s Pegula.

Okay, okay, Shabby... Hamilton College is home at the Clinton Arena on Saturday, November 20, at 3 p.m., which is the same day that Colgate hosts Yale at 7:30 p.m. The shame should be lifted that evening.Last edited by iowabasedtraveler; 10-01-2021, 09:27 AM.

Carter Gylander in the net tonight for ‘Gate.
Ian Andriano for RIT.
Colgate 13, RIT 7, SOG after one.
Colgate 2, RIT 1, score after one.
RIT scored first. We answered right back.
We have some offense this year, but we need to tighten up on defense. Defensive miscues cost us (and not just the goal).
We had two PP opportunities, and RIT had one.
And, oddly enough, I think three of our sticks broke in the first period.Last edited by iowabasedtraveler; 10-02-2021, 07:43 PM.

Nic Belpedio did score first goal, as it appeared, from Alex Young and Josh McKechney.
I think Arnaud Vachon got the second goal.
Colgate 21, RIT 13, SOG after two.
Colgate 3, RIT 1, score after two.
Colton Young scored Colgate’s third goal.
Great penalty kill by Colgate.
Overall, I like what I see so far. Gylander had a couple very good saves. I hope we get a little more aggressive in the third and put it away.
Colgate 24, RIT 24, final SOG.
Colgate 5, RIT 2, final score.
Cole Hanson and Ryan McGuire scored in the third.
They scored with 7.1 seconds left. We let Carter Gylander shine in the third period and he did just that. Kinda makes up for the 6-1 shellacking we took downtown during their Brick City weekend a couple of years ago.
