[QUOTE=Marmot;n3715401]You know, I was thinking about the conversation of a few days ago about great games at Starr, and maybe that skews my viewpoint on what I expect. The worst season the team had when I was there was 16-12-4. The team was routinely cranking out seasons 10 games over .500. Starr was a noisy, loud, full old barn. I miss that.(QUOTE)
I second the motion Marmot. Starr used to be a rockin' place back in the day. I remember (somewhat) a big game when Clarkson came to town and was heavily favored with players who were much more experienced, and a favorite to go to the NCAAs. I think it was in 1962 or 1963. I believe Bobby Meehan had a hat trick to bring us a W in that game,. The bleachers were packed with students and they went wild. It seemed Starr was really good at keeping the decibels high and for more of the games - even those where we lost. Of course '65 has not had huge student representation yet, so we shiouldn't judge. But Starr had that old barn atmosphere, that, in my opinion helped intimidate the opponent.
Nice win over Bruno, even if playing on fumes.
