Colgate's next opponent... Cornell: home (February 4) and away (February 5).
Our only opponent this year that was in the 16-team 2021 NCAA tourney was Quinnipiac.
Our only opponents next year that are in the 16-team 2022 NCAA tourney might be Western Michigan (away 2x) and Quinnipiac (home, away).

Good update IBT...rather sad to see the continuing decline of ECAC hockey...AGAIN, it's four decent to good teams and then (really) no difference between teams 5 through 12, ALL OF WHICH are in the lower third of the PairWise (including #55, #56, #57)...we're starting to look like the Patriot League in football...

Mitch Benson led the team out onto the ice for tonight’s pre-game warm-up. Andrew Farrier and Will Friend backing him up.
Cornell pep band and Colgate pep band both in the house.
Alex Young scores for ‘Gate late in the period.
Colgate 9, Cornell 6, SOG after one.
Colgate 1, Cornell 0, score after one.
Not many shots by either team. Defensive lapses by both teams. Goaltending looks solid by both teams.
8 seconds into the second period, Cornell tied it up.
PPG for ‘Gate by Griffin Lunn.
Colgate 16, Cornell 15, SOG after two.
Colgate 2, Cornell 1, score after two.
Less than a minute into the period, Cornell scored.
Colgate with PPG by Manderville.
Cornell 29, Colgate 24, SOG final.

Well, I obviously didn’t see that one coming, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. After me ragging on the defense most of this season, this was their night… low number of SOG by each team, low number of goals by each team. Mitch Benson stood on his head at times and was luckier-than-heck at times (ping off the pipes, puck sitting in front of empty net). It also got physical and chippy at times, and can’t help but think that tomorrow night at Lynah will be worse. But, we know we can beat ‘em now. Go ‘Gate (and Gate83)!!
