  • I'm really pumped to see who the new fastest man in the world will be. Should be really interesting.

    • Think we could leverage the "new GLI" format for a 1.5 for 1 series out of State? (I would include Michigan, but we all know how much Michigan likes leaving Ann Arbor.) Joe always talks about the 2 of 1 Tech gets offered and how we can't get a 1 for 1. Maybe this is a compromise?

      • Western Michigan suddenly has a coaching vacancy. Maybe Chris Brooks would like to return to his alma mater and coach his son, who will be a freshman this fall.

Need to stop taking bad away game deals. Completely. Keep talking to the press about how they are afraid to play in Houghton. (Which is true). Become a pain the butt to those that won’t play. There are way better alternatives to playing multiple away games to the UofM and MSU every year.

Yes. Just trying to think of how we can turn this awful "new" GLI format to some benefit for us because right now I see none.

I have no doubt that he would've jumped at the top job, but that's not available. He's already been the head assistant at WMU, why come back for a job that he already had?
Never argue with an idiot; they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

              • The problem with not taking 2-for-1s is that plenty of other small schools will do it just to have big names on their schedules and hopefully beat them on the road for NCAA comparison purposes. There's only so much you can do as individual institutions.

                • MTU got a commitment from Reid Daavettila, who recently went 67th overall to Lincoln in the 2021 USHL draft.

Boston has the beanpot. Minnesota has created a ”state of hockey” tournament that will rival the beanpot some day. Michigan needs to develop something similar. Maybe this is Tech’s opportunity to create that intra-state tournament. Invite one more to even it up, or give the #1PWR or last years champion a round 1 bye...

Because the Goofers couldn't win it every year. Heck, they only made the championship in the first year, which they won, then they finished 4th, 4th and 3rd.
