You gotta think Gendron (Red) is a goner after this season ...

      • Really thought we came to play today...regardless of Maine's win/loss UNH had a solid game with lots of contributions from the D playing without Maass. Not to mention not having played in awhile. Anyhoo, onto BC (who I think...will be tough lol).

Who knows what the U is going to do but the fact Red has 3 months left on his contract says to me he is gone. I thought he was a good hire at the time, but he certainly didn't turn the team around. I think they need a younger guy looking to move up in the coaching world.
I swear there ain't no heaven but I pray there ain't no hell.

If Whitehead is still at KUA that’s a better place for him. My aunt Betty was the first female graduate of KUA and a Valedictorian. Just sayin’

              • Forgot all about the game - watching the highlights, my main(e) takeaway is boy they sure don't have a Swayman any more. And that was the difference...

Right ahead of his jumping into the play and getting that goal - it looks like he had visions of going end to end, but ran into a familiar face...

Max is 1-3-4, +6 in four professional games.

Yep that familiar face was our very own Andrew Poturalski! Glad that Max is off to a good start...

I get your point Dan and to be frank, sure, that's prob the truth of it. I was just glad to see a team who seemed very prepared and good for them for the win. Made the trip home 'bearable' (borrowing that from a lurker here haha). BC's Spencer Knight, not to mention their top line etc...is another story.

                          • Luke Reid screwed out of an All-Rookie spot. Best D on UNH, as a freshman.
                            The Souza record:
                            15-16 10th place
                            16-17 10th place
                            17-18 11th place
                            18-19 8th place
                            19-20 9th place
                            20-21 10th place
                            21-22 9th place
                            22-23 10th place

Looks like the "familiar face" is still going through the motions defensively, if that end-of-shift clip is any reflection of how he's going about his business on a regular basis. Waving at Gildon with his stick, lazy leg check, taking his sweet old time getting back to the bench while Gildon jumps in to create a 3-on-1 for their goal. Some of "Familiar's" teammates probably won't be too happy, getting stuck with a minus on their plus/minus largely for his crappy defending and lackadaisical efforts (and I use that term loosely) to get off the ice, leaving them stuck behind the play and the eventual goal. I'm sure Coach would notice this. It's plays like that which form reputations, and keep fairly talented AHL players from being more upwardly mobile.

Good for Gildon, looks like he's off to a great start. Still think his upside is NHL top two pairing.

Toughest UNH game that I have ever watched in person, although the debacle against RIT in the Albany regional about a decade later was a close second.
