Unless, of course, Tommy Nolan's dad/uncle was playing for Coach Bjorkman 30 or so years earlier!!
Either way, I would have been a preschooler back then, and my folks didn't take me to the game.
Still P.O.'ed at them both, all these years later, for such a careless oversight …

Yup, I asked who scored the first UNH goal in Snively, on 13 February 1965, almost 30 years before Tommy Nolan (or someone) got the inaugural goal (or game winner) at the Whitt. I think that sonar or ATW will get this one.
Could be a long off-season of sports trivia questions, eh, Chuck?Last edited by Snively65; 04-22-2020, 11:47 PM.

UNH students and faculty were
finally able to see their hockey
team play last Saturday in the
beautiful new Whoops Snively Arena.
Playing an aggressive hard
skating game the Blue sextet held
a slim lead until the final minutes
of the third period when a
deflected Norwich shot tied the
game 3-3. The Cadets went on to
win in overtime.
Page 11 has a picture of Bjorkman handing the puck to the player.

Now this is interesting.
Ward will reportedly transfer to UNH. Nice get for the Wildcats. https://t.co/bAhHm6op5e

And to answer the follow up question, the NCAA is voting next month on a "one time transfer" rule that would allow players to transfer without sitting out a year.
If so, it answers my biggest question, from March

So, I would think either Margel or Cafarelli but probably not both are brought in next year. There are several questions, but projecting Richels to get a top 6 role from HS is a big assumption and probably doesn't work. But he would fit there by profile, keeping Sato on the third line where he is more effective given his limited offensive skills.

Really hoping that we get to see college hockey this coming year, even if just for a conference schedule beginning in January.

Denver's Tyler Ward to New Hampshire, as first reported by @JeffCoxSports, is good upgrade for Cats forward group. UNH was runnerup when Ward picked Denver a few yrs back
— Mark Divver (@MarkDivver) April 23, 2020
Tyler Ward committed to Denver in December, 2016, which was Souza's second season as an associate head coach at UNH:
