    FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Head coach Erik Largen and the Alaska Nanook hockey team has announced their full 2021-22 season schedule. This will be their first full-independent season since the 1992-93 season.

    To kick-off the season, Alaska will host their annual Blue/Gold scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 24 at the Carlson Center before holding an exhibition game versus Simon Fraser University on Saturday, Sept. 25 in the Carlson. The regular-season will officially begin for the blue and gold on Oct. 2-3 when they head to Minneapolis, Minn. to face-off with the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Mariucci Arena.

    Following their trip to Minnesota, the 'Nooks come home to open their home-schedule on Oct. 8-9 as they host Clarkson University. They will then hit the road for a three-week trip, heading to Omaha on Oct. 15-16 before making the trip to New York to see Clarkson, once again, on Oct. 22-23 in Potsdam, N.Y. and Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. on Oct. 29-30. Following their road-trip, the Nanooks will have back-to-back bye weeks Nov. 5-6 and Nov. 12-13.

    They'll return to action on Nov. 19-20 as Omaha comes to town before taking to the road for the final time in 2021 to play Minnesota Duluth. Alaska and the Bulldogs will square-off on Nov. 26-27. After another bye week the 'Nooks return home for back-to-back series' with RPI. On Dec. 10-11 the two teams meet in Fairbanks before playing two more times in the Carlson Center on Dec. 15-16. The Nanooks will celebrate the new year in Denver, Colo. against the Pioneers on Dec. 30-31.

    Largen and the 'Nooks will remain on the road for another week, traveling to Orono, Maine to play the Maine Black Bears on Jan. 7-8 before taking two bye weeks. The Nanooks will host an Alumni game on Jan. 22 at the Carlson Center during their second bye week. The following week, Alaska will head to Burlington, Vt. and play Vermont on Jan. 28-29.

    After Vermont, Alaska will travel to Tempe, Ariz. to match-up with Arizona State on Feb. 4-5. They return home on Feb. 11-12 to take-on St. Thomas at the Carlson before their final road-trip of the season. They head East one last time to play Long Island University for the first time in program-history on Feb. 18-19 in Long Island, N.Y. They come home and end the season with back-to-back weekends at the Carlson. The first is against Arizona State on Feb. 25-26 and the second will come on Mar. 4-5 as LIU will make the long trip to Fairbanks.

    All home games are slated for a 7:07 p.m. puck-drop. Those times are subject to change. Away game times will be announced at a later date.

    Season tickets are currently available for renewals and newcomers, single-game tickets will go on sale at a later date.
