The Warden's only girl was a a good player; she went to the NYS Sectionals a few times. That fed my interest in the sport.
Once I got interested in the game, we went to see Maine on the road. There were plenty of good seats available every time :-), but it was fun to see Maine excel at something. The women won for us every time.
We'll tune in to the NCAA's, for sure.
GOOOOOO BLUE!!!!

If someone had told us 20 or so years ago that a UMaine in-season thread would be focusing on Women's Field Hockey, and a similar in-season UNH thread would be focusing on Men's Soccer, I think we would have found that a little hard to believe ...Sworn Enemy of the Perpetually Offended
Montreal Expos Forever ...

At Miami:
Maine wins: MAINE 2 flights, 1 drive
Maine loses: MAINE 2 flights, MIAMI 2 drives (to MI and back)
At Maine:
Maine wins: MIAMI 2 flights, MAINE 2 flights
Miami wins: MIAMI 2 flights, 2 drives (to MI and back)
At Michigan:
Maine wins: MAINE 2 flights, MIAMI 2 drives
Miami wins: MAINE 2 flights, MIAMI 2 drives
There was a chance the NCAA could save on one way bus fare if Maine won at Miami. That's worth messing with bracket integrity if you are the NCAA and have to pay millions in administrative salaries.
