The sole up-side of being a Maine fan today is that football put up 526 total yards today on the road, and are now in the black, even with Fagnano sidelined.

That was good to see. Hockey will take a bit longer.

That was an absolutely brutal goal to lose on. It did feel like improvement compared to Friday though. I know the last goal by Ostman was a howler but as a fan I feel more comfortable with him in the net, and the team seems to play better in front of him. It’ll be interesting to see who starts next weekend or if they split the games.
Mulera seemed like a good addition last night, he doesn’t seem totally comfortable out there but he shows flashes that make me think he could contribute. Morrissey had a really strong weekend, the way he buzzes around the net makes me think if he gets hot, he could provide some decent goal scoring numbers for Maine.

Hockey will be a long winter. Im gonna assume theyd have the same record with any coach so my thought is at least we’ve started the rejuvenation process here instead of sitting here 0-4 knowing it’ll be at 7-19 months before theres even a coaching search.

We got the coach that most of us wanted....he's getting commitments left & right....Alfond renovations are on the horizon.....this might be the best losing season ever!

I think the frustrating thing for me is that if they played against Sacred Heart how they played Saturday night against NEU those are two comfortable wins. There are going to be some off nights, and that is fine, but I want to see Maine play somewhat close to their potential most nights. Three complete disasters out of six games isn’t a great ratio.

Let’s not forget the Friday loss against Sacred Heart was also on a fluke goal. Thiessen went to play the puck, it took a weird bounce and boom… empty net for the SH player.

Outside of Friday vs. Northeastern, they’ve been in every game. I’m not overly excited about just being in the game against Sacred Heart, but they’ve had chances to win.

It would be great to get at least one this weekend against a UConn team that looks pretty good.

Gosh, i hate this ridiculous format. What a ****-show this excuse for a forum has become. Small wonder there's so little traffic on here these days.

Regardless, on a BoSox note, RIP Jerry Remy. I'm old enough to remember his playing days, and his years in the booth were at least as good. I'll miss him; he made me laugh.

There are a few young guys who will be on Maine's next winning team, but there are only three freshmen. Any issues that the prior year teams have had (penalties, for one) are in the walls. The goal of this year has to be recruiting, developing some young guys, and trying to eliminate the retained bad habits (penalties, for one). The bad habits won't go away overnight.

The team should be better in February than it is now, and it should look completely different next season.

Maine is 0-5 vs. #6 (neutral site), #9 (x2 away) and #21 (x2 away)....Their schedule has been pretty tough.
