Ya think ? When you have a slew of young impressionable freshman this is how you get their attention and make winners out of them. These new guys arent pussywhopped, they can handle a litte adversity and grow from it. Barr is demanding excellence. Good for him, just what the doctor ordered if you want to change the culture of the team. Carry on Big Ben

Maine had another Josh come in a number of years ago, Pappalardo, with a similar game to Nadeau’s and he did nothing at Maine.
First of all, his name was Jake Pappalardo, not Josh. Second of all, Pappalardo put up his big numbers in prep school, a far cry from the BCHL that both the Nadeau's have been dominating (Josh 9-24-33 in 16 GP, Bradley 17-18-35 in 16 GP) which has been known to generate plenty of top level collegiate talent over the years. Third of all, Josh Nadeau has been raved about by top scouts, with his Elite Prospects page having one call him "one of the best players I have ever seen play the game at his age." Fourth of all, Josh is scoring just as much as Bradley on the same team, and he's only a year and a half older. Comparing Nadeau to Pappalardo is frankly flat-out laughable.

      • I have loved being able to watch the games on ESPN+

I agree with coach, Maine found a way to lose both games this weekend. A sweep was completely within their grasp.

I have no issue with his presser. I took it as a message to some in the room. The way he mentioned trying to change the culture, more than once, makes me wonder if that wasn't a direct message to some who have been slow to embrace that culture change away from "hey we had a good effort tonight but" mentality and get them to the "hey, we didn't have our A game but we found a way to get the W" mentality.

        I loved it.

        • Loving the look of today’s lines up front, top 3 lines could all provide scoring.

          Poisson-Breen-Trudeau
          Henbrandt-Renwick-Houle
          Freel-KO-Pabich
          Lindauer-Hanson-Michaelian

          • Men against boys that period. Maine is lucky to be down only one.

            • Im at the game, got in a little late but in time to see the goal. Bit of a soft rebound on Ostman's part. I did like the response after the goal for the most part, they held MC in their own end for a while and got one really good chance and a few other chances as well.

              • Only 5 Mack shots in that second period. Maine was easily the better team for the first ~2/3 of that period until the MC power play. 1-0 headed to the third, lets see what they can do.

                • I thought Maine was pretty good for the first 2/3 of the period and then lucky not to concede the last 1/3. Being down 1-0 is a pretty good position to be in all things considered.

                  • I'm glad I have the memories of Maine spanking Merrimack every time they played them way back when. Ain't true no more, MC looks faster to me, better puck handling etc.
I swear there ain't no heaven but I pray there ain't no hell.

                    • Bit of a frustrating one to watch. There were many stretches of the game when Maine was the better team. We killed em on the shot clock, but shots are only worth so much when they don't go in. Still appears to be zero finishing talent up front, but the D is the real deal. One thing that really irritated me was how it seemed like Maine was never crashing the net and getting guys at the top of the crease, hope that can be something they work on and adjust the gameplan.

                      • Maine's down 1-0 in the pregame, according to what the CHN app is telling me! Kinda how their season has been going. (And, yes, I know it's not accurate)

Didn’t generate the scoring like I had hoped but much of the same tonight. Hard to be upset with the guys given the effort but have to find ways to win rather than finding ways to not lose.

A long ways to go still, compared to last year’s game at lawler, it was much better. Personally, I could see Merrimack making the tourney. Rough stretch results wise for Maine but they’re playing up to the competition. The record might be bad but they’re a tough team.

                          • No legs, guess their not as conditioned as they claimed to be. Had to turn it off after 4-1.

                            • Can't stay out of the penalty box, can't score goals, etc. They're awful.

                              • Maine remains unwatchable. Looked like another Red team during both nights. Absolutely no hands.
