His UG degree is in Finance/Accounting so I can't imagine that grades are an issue...

Reid Leibold's last team is listed as Merrimack, but the informational blurb starts by saying he spent two years with the Maryland Black Bears and doesn't say anything about his playing at Merrimack.
The blurbs are correct. That last teams are messed up.

Interesting. BTW, this is the first time that I recall that uniform numbers were mentioned on the recruit announcement, thus none of us will have a chance to guess poorly. :-D

I also forwarded the list to Chris Heisenberg and told him to add Finn Brown back in, which he did. In addition, I mentioned what you wrote about Eric Fawkes, but told him that we have no proof he isn't coming. So he remains for now. I will eventually write him about several teams he has wrong, but at this point there are many players who may move before next season.

Leibold is the other freshman???? Don't get me wrong, I like his skill set, but he is NOT ready. Hope he doesn't mind being parked on the bench for a year or two. I am baffled why he didn't take another year in juniors.
As it says, that's the Leibold who played for Merrimack. ;-D

Being ranked #222 among North American skaters makes him somewhere above 350 overwall in a draft of just over 200. He could develop into a solid NHL player, but, based on his current standing, it's more likely that he'll do his time in major junior, go undrafted and sign a free agent contract in the ECHL. Most guys put in the 3-5 years there, perhaps toss in an international year or two and then find themselves in their late 20s with no job and no degree. At least with the college route they can play a few years to assess the likelihood of a strong professional career before deciding whether to complete a degree. I hope our decision not to play this season didn't push him into making this decision. Then again, Sudbury didn't play either.
and neither did his OJHL team.
