As he needed to. They needed to improve the depth of the team as they can't rely on incoming freshman this season who have barely played in juniors. They have two definite freshman in Jack Babbage (D) and Cristophe Tellier coming in as they both are 2000's. Its possible they also bring in a pair of 01 forwards in Liam McLinskey and Connor Tait. I would say McLinskey more than Tait. However they may not be done shopping the transfer portal. They probably need some more help up front. They also need another goaltender though it makes sense to find an uncommitted kid to come in as a freshman.

Congrats to Bill Riga on being named head coach at Holy Cross!
Huge loss for the Bobcats as Billy has been instrumental in our success while he was here.
I think his was inevitable. He was always applying and mentioned for head coach positions that he was bound to get one at some point. Not sure the Holy Cross job is the one to leave for but there are only about 60 of these so you can't be picky.

I knew it was only a matter of time.
I, too, questioned Holy Cross, but he's from the area and likely has family nearby. Plus, HC always comes up in the move to Hockey East discussions, so who knows where the future leads..
I wish him the best and hope he has success behind the bench..

I think he’s been up for a few bigger jobs and lost out. Same for Dumais. HC might be a stepping stone for him, or a chance to put them on the map. Bazin at UML is only 50 and been pretty successful, so unless life has bigger plans for him I doubt Billy’s headed there anytime soon.
Hopefully Rand can find the next Cashman or Riga out there. Any alumni in the rumor mill? Definitely could use a PP guy and of course a recruiter.
Ok so the name of the site is Pro Hockey Rumors. That said, the article states KP is expected to return to school. Since Altman already has been assigned 31, and KP isn’t on the roster it seems very unlikely but the fact he isn’t signed yet is interesting.
