Going with primary numbers, I agree with you on 27. I would probably pick Rick Smith as 23, for the playoff victory in 1974 over UHN if nothing else. 29 is a real washout, so I would also go to Spadafore on longevity.

What about Christian Morissette at 36.

BTW, I am hoping that 16 and 30 change in a few years, perhaps even after this year.

I remember quite vividly listening to that game on WRPI. It was RPI's last victory while I was a grad student as they didn't fair well at the Gahden the following week.

WRPI produced some famous members of the media, Lew Strauss with ABC, Kevin Hamburger still in Hollywood, then add Allen Able and Mike Pericone and print media was well covered.

I'm not going to pretend that I know whether Red Berenson or Brendan Morrison was a better college hockey player, so I will stick to players I actually saw play college hockey. Obviously Willard Ikola was a better #1 than Mark Chiamp, but I don't want to start guessing how good all of Michigan's dominating '50s players actually were. So...from 1975 to 2009:

I chose Pat Mazzoli over Jeff Blashill because Mazzoli and Lisko took this team to the Joe while Blashill spent much of '94-98 getting sunburn from the red light behind him. Osaer wore #39.
