BREAKING - recruit Stephen Grumley has committed to UMass Lowell. The 2007-born defenseman out of California was a standout performer for us at the 16U Nationals and recently committed to the BCHLs Sherwood Park Crusaders for next season. Nice get for UMass Lowell here.

5'8", 151 pounds and a 3.75* as per NZ. He was also on the LA Jr. Kings, along with fellow 07 and Goalie commit Kyle Jones.

And while this might not help immediately, good to see Assistant Head Coach Andy Boschetto was part of the coaching staff (along with a Merrimack Assistant Coach) for the Mass District team at the USA Hockey Select 17 Camp. Can't hurt to have future college athletes gets to know (and hopefully) appreciate the coaching staff.

Bored at work today, so put this roster view together now that we know what the upcoming roster is like, I wanted to see where we are going out another two years. Obviously things will change based on future commits as well as the transfer portal.

But looking at the 25/26 roster, we'll definitely need to add at least one defenseman and a goalie.

It's not quite noon yet, but 10 commits so far, half to HE teams (3 to UMass, Maine and BU one each).

Outside of the big names you'd expect being active these first two days (BC, BU, Michigan et al), couple of smaller programs jumped in with Merrimack and even AIC picking up commits.

Not sure. He is obviously good enough to still be playing D1 hockey somewhere but he is from North Bay Ontario (where Ni****ing University is) so he may just want to be back home.

As the commitments of the late 07s and 08s starts to slow ... I've updated the numbers showing only the schools that have a different number than what I posted 19 days ago. Surprisingly, to me anyway, MC has the biggest increase. The only three HE teams that haven't picked up a commit in this time are UConn, UNH and of course ...

I'm probably the only one that finds this interesting, but since the rule change re Aug 1st, Lowell hasn't picked up a single "future" commit (I can't remember when the rule changed). I only went back 5 years to the 2021 recruiting class. The only August commit we picked up in that entire time frame was Dylan Cook but he was for the next year, not 2-4 seasons out. Don't know if it means anything, just ... information.
