  • Dom Rivelli (Highland Park, IL) has committed to Lowell for the upcoming season. The current captain of the NJ Titans (NAHL) is 5'10, 176, and was born August 1, 2003 (so he'll be 21 when he plays his first game at Lowell). He currently leads the Titans with 17 goals and has a total of 26 points in 35 games played. Couple of quotes here.

            • Good to see a goalie recruit, even though he's a couple of years out.

And it looks like my hope that they'd change their recruiting philosophy finally has started to play out. I went back to the older commit lists and looked up some stuff:

2024: 8 commits for beyond this incoming class, with 5 potentially coming in two years.
2023: 5 commits for beyond the 2023 class (all coming the following season, 2024).
2022: 6 commits for beyond the 2022 class (all 2023).
2021: 9 commits for beyond the 2021 class (all but 1 were 2022 commits).
2020: 10 commits for beyond the 2021 class (all but 1 were 2021 commits).

They now appear to be recruiting more long term than just the following year or two, which I personally this is good, but of course, we won't find out for a while what the results are.

With the commits over the past few months, and now the portal in play, here's an update for the Lowell roster going out a couple of years. As always, a lot can change between now and then. For now, I still don't know who will be in goal for the 2025/2026 season.

If we use this season as an example, we have 18 forwards and 8 defensemen. So using that, I can imagine we'll still add at least another defenseman for next year and definitely someone who has experience to back up Welsch.? I've left Jones and Kresl for the 2026/2027 season as per Chris' site.

                  24/25 roster

                  • Wow, goaltending is a real issue for 2025-2026. Welsch should be the number one goalie next season. Even if they bring in another goaltender (recruit/portal) for next season how much playing time will they get.

Could Nordlund be eligible for 25-26? Don't think he played a single minute his freshman year, not sure if that means that year doesn't count for eligibility or not

                        • Nice job Monty with the roster projections. Based on the latest update the Hawks have to find a goaltender and I think they'll bring in another defenseman. It would be nice to get a goal scoring forward from the portal but at 18 forwards I'm not sure there's room.

I'm not sure about Nordlund eligibility for 25-26.
