Hearing Latvia might be the new Sweden for Lowell. Patriks Marcinkevics may be in play for Lowell. LIU player that is in the portal. Whether it comes to fruition, unsure. Just passing what I hear
"We will play a style that is a puck-possession game, an up-tempo style ... It will rely on speed and toughness. I’m sure these players can
make that adjustment very easily. We’re going to make the Tsongas a tough place to get points for other teams." -UML Coach Norm Bazin

      • Alex Peterson to Lowell via the portal. 25 YO forward from Holy Cross w/ 19 points last season. Looks like he wore an A as well.

I mean no disrespect to the kid but it’s a bit underwhelming for our first (hopefully) portal acquisition.

I hope he makes me eat crow next year.

          • 121 games played for Peterson at Holy Cross, with 18 goals and 55 points. And as already pointed out, 25 years old (today actually). If Lowell makes a deep run next year into the NCAA Tournament, he will be 26 years old, potentially playing against 19 year old kids. Yikes.

                    • The season is over for Jonathan Horn and Lee Parks as Vernon was eliminated from the BCHL playoffs. Parks led his team in scoring in the playoffs and in the regular season.

NZ was at the final game of the series and had this to say about his play. I assume he'll play another year of juniors.

Parks is a clearly skilled offensive winger. Has a remarkably accurate shot to go along with some magic hands. Could be better defensively but his game is based on his acute sense of what is happening on the ice in the offensive zone. All-in-all a deadly player who possesses good size elite-level skill and smooth skating. Scored a nice and important goal tonight on a breakaway showcasing his speed and hands in tight on the goalie. With a little flick of the wrist, Parks had the goalie fooled and was able to go forehand backhand shelf for the opening goal of the night.

                      • With how Bazin generally recruits, I would imagine that all three of the '04s are probably set for the 2024/2025 season (Parks/Buchbinder/Dolzhenko). Incoming freshmen in a few months will have to include Kilcullen, Goffredo, Horn and Brunette (all '02s). That leaves the '03s as a question mark: Vaarwerk, O'Donnell, Moriello, Cardona, Mezsargs and Silkalns.

The Heisenberg site has Goffredo as an '02, he's actually an '03. I wonder if he'll play another year of juniors.
