    • Nothing recent on NZ mentioning Horn in any 2022 article.

For those that are into recruiting, a pretty good (and long) look at how the hockey world is shrinking and how UVM is trying to take advantage of it.

      • We need to enjoy this season because I don't see any Scout Truman or Andre Lee type players in the pipeline at the moment.

        • After a somewhat slow start to a new league (2 points in the first 5 games, and both happening in just one game), '03 Jaiden Moriello has now put up points in 6 of the last 7 for West Kelowna, and in 5 of those games he's put up 2 or more. He's moved up to 9th in scoring in the BCHL.

Interestingly, the top 3 in points in the BCHL are all committed to HE schools. '05 and '03 brothers Nadeau (first and second in scoring) are both going to Maine and an '04 Suniev is heading to UMass. All three play for the top team in the BCHL, Penticton who is a rather impressive 16-0, with a +66 goal differential. Yikes.

Also, in Scanlon's article in the Sun about Horn committing to Lowell, he listed the recruits coming up and he also doesn't have Dauphinais listed. So I have no idea what's going on there.

          • Danill Dolzhenko has been sent down to the NAHL. His new team is the Wisconsin Windigo.

Jaiden Moriello, Adam Cardona and Girts Silkalns have signed an NLI.

Thanks, Middle Street. I was wondering what was going on with Danill.

But yet another '02. While Merrimack has 6 '05 and '06 recruit, Arizona State has 2, etc ... we still only have one '04 commit. I just don't get it.

I do get that, but I've been on this track consistently for a while. PC and UMass used their success to change their recruiting tactics to increase their talent level. I had thought Lowell would look to do the same. I think you set up a "this is probably the best you'll be able to do" when you don't try and increase your talent level. A system can only do so much without talent (and vice versa of course).

Parks is a big and strong forward that has offensive upside that he appears to still be piecing together. He can make a move on the rush with his hands but loses speed as he still needs to move his feet. He has a strong net front presence, was effective at angling on the forecheck, and stretched the zone well on the breakout. He made numerous passes that were tape to tape and he received passes with no trouble. He had one goal in the tournament and it was a golden opportunity to tie the game in the semifinals and he converted on a well placed shot. Flashes of offensive ability throughout the week were there but the other aspects of his game were his strengths. Grade: B-

                            • I was hoping he would be ranked higher than that. Has the BCHL talent level regressed? I thought Nick Rheaume would be more of an impact scorer this season. Maybe he will turn things on in the 2nd half like Owen Cole did last season.

NZ has updated their ratings on a couple of recruits. Horn is now listed as a 3.75 and Ben Brunette is now a 4.
