Just a reminder, since being blown-out, 5-1, at PWR #8 Clarkson...

Colgate 4, Harvard 3, OT, on the road.

PWR #35 Colgate at PWR #7 Ohio State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
All Pair-Wise Rankings (PWR) are current.
We have our work cut out for us, but anything is possible.
Forward Matthew Verboon is playing on the Swiss team for the World Juniors. Not sure if anyone stated this yet but it’s currently on ESPN+. Something to cheer for along with the US if you follow it.
So the question is can we continue the momentum? I am assuming Ferrier is in the net. This will be a tough test but with the way we have played, and how we have done against ranked teams in their barns this year (tied providence, beat and tied umass Lowell, beat Harvard) I am getting way too oprimistic. Additionally, Gateradio is making an appearance on the air ways for the weekend which will be nice to hear
Me also, will be watching, very interested to see how we handle a team like State. They have a 6-3 goalie with outstanding numbers, 1.8 GAA and .934 SAA. Maybe they'll be thinking more about football.
I just checked into my hotel near Ohio State.
I am not too optimistic about this weekend.
I think the Buckeyes are a Frozen-Four-quality team again; I saw them defeat Princeton and Denver to advance to the Frozen Four out of the Allentown Regional in 2018.
I will be happy if we can play them close both games, like we did against Northeastern in Belfast.
Thus far this season, this is how we match-up against current PairWise Ranking (PWR) ‘top 15’ teams...
#2 Cornell - later this season (home-n-home),
#5 Boston College - loss at home,
#7 Ohio State - this weekend (Fri-Sat) on the road,
#8 Clarkson - loss (blow-out) on the road,
#12 UMass Lowell - win and tie on the road,
#14 Providence- tie on the road,
#15 Northeastern - loss in Belfast.
That’s 1-3-2. Not horrible, but not impressive enough for me to predict two wins by The Colgate University against The Ohio State University in their home arena. I think a tie would be a nice late-Christmas present in Columbus.
Their offensive numbers don't look too overwhelming with two players tied for #63 in scoring with 15 pts., not too far above our leaders. Their 2.75 GPG is a little scary compared to our meager output. They are 7th in team defense with a 1.88 GAA and we are #16 with a 2.39 avg., not too bad. I'd be happy with a split. Whatever happens it's a good growth experience for the guys, and may pay dividends down the road.
Andrew Farrier did indeed lead the Colgate Raiders onto the ice for tonight’s non-conference match-up with the host Ohio State Buckeyes.
Shabby, I only use current PWR. Harvard was, at the time, inside the ‘top 16,’ but they are currently PWR #22. As the season progresses, current PWR is everything. I don’t even look at polls anymore.
Colgate 6, Ohio State 5, SOG after one.
Colgate 1, Ohio State 1, score after one.
But, the most telling stat, near the end of the first, was Colgate 13-5 in face-offs won. Lunn scored early and we had momentum on our side. They scored a PPG to tie it up. Getting chippy already in the first period, especially at the end of it. We are playing well. Farrier hasn’t been tested much, yet.
