Sources indicate UMass Lowell assistant coach Juliano Pagliero is heading to Penn State to take the place of Matt Lindsay, who left for UMass. Also, hearing more assistant coaching changes in Hockey East are imminent.

NEHJ article speculates that former Maine assistant coach Ben Guite is the most likely candidate for the job. Time will tell.

So a Penn State assistant leaves for UMass and a Lowell assistant replaces him. That seems a bit odd. Is UMass paying more for assistants? Wouldn't it be consistent between the two schools?

Hockey East Tournament will include 11 all teams again, but is all single-elimination games now.

The Hockey East Men’s Tournament will return to an all-in format after a two-year departure. Seeds six, seven, and eight will host seeds 11, 10, and nine, respectively, in the Opening Round set for Wednesday, March 9, 2022. After a reseeding, the top three seeds will host the winners of the Opening Round while the four seed will host the five seed in the Quarterfinals on Saturday, March 12. For the first time since 2019, the Hockey East Men’s Championship Semifinals and Final will return to the TD Garden in Boston on March 18-19, 2022. Ticket information and game times will be announced at a later date.

According to the Mack Report, Canisius assistant Taylor Nelsonis in the mix for the job at UMass Lowell. Nelson was an All-America netminder at Ferris State and led the Bulldogs to the 2012 NCAA Frozen Four. The new assistant coach should be announced by the end of the month.

Still several months away from the season starting, but does anyone know when the downtown construction is expected to end? I was downtown maybe a month or so ago and it was a mess. Getting in and out of games via the connector could stink this season. The Thorndike Street overpass is gone, which in my opinion will make traffic worse going that way, and the central street bridge over the canal is currently only 1 lane and one way?
