    Re: 2019 NCAA Tournament Bracketology

worth noting....while Northeastern and Harvard have never met in the Beanpot Championship game, they are both in the NCAAs and BC & BU are golfing.

Here's hoping NU can win its first NCAA tournament game since the Reagan administration. Although I'm not sure that should count either since they won game one of a two game total goal series 5-3 against Merrimack and then gagged it away by losing 7-3 the next night

Thanks for the memories of one of our worst periods ever! Your guys tried to match that misery this year. They failed, but they will try again next season.

Just flip the Allentown and Providence brackets. I have no problem with playing Providence; it's just that a 4 seed should never get home ice.

The game was moved to Schneider Arena?

                Then it isn't home ice.

The argument from Gopher fans wasn't "We're hosting so we get home ice," it was, "This isn't home ice." If it wasn't home ice then it isn't home ice now.

Home ice atmosphere maybe, but not home ice. And I would argue that very few regionals have any atmosphere, including the ones in Providence.

They have a hard enough time getting schools to host as it is, there needs to be some sort of benefit given that they no longer allow it to be in the actual on campus building. Would you have felt better if you played NU or Cornell in first round? Then deal with the Friars *if* you both win?
Should have put UMD in Mankato’s position, I doubt they’re afraid of playing Providence on “home ice”. I bet SCSU wouldn’t be afraid of PC either. Either you’re a championship caliber team who will win under any scenario, or you aren’t. Pretty simple. I wish you luck. I’d like to see the WCHA put a team in the FF and obviously I don’t mean for it to be BGSU, but to do it your team needs to get ****ed off and play with a chip on their shoulder for their NCAA record for how they’ve been seeded and not roll over and die because they think the cards have been stacked against them

They're not the host. Brown is. So it's hard to get schools to host, but we should give one all the benefits of hosting without any of the burdens?

To be fair, Mankato may not feel as confident as mighty #1 seed Harvard, who blanked #4 seed PC 3-0 in Providence in 2017. Or Boston University who defeated North Dakota in Fargo. Or North Dakota itself, who defeated both BU and BC in Worcester.

to your point, Michigan beat both BU (score 6-3) & Northeastern (score 3-2) in Worcester last year to advance to the FF.

We don't always win Hockey East or the Beanpot (#trilogy).. but when we do.. we are the Champions

But that was all the way out in Worcester, violating the "We won't go more than 10 minutes to see our team play" rule for HE teams. Hence why Providence was so opposed to going all the way to Manchester.

Really? Someone asked coach Leaman and he said, "Put us in Providence or we won't play."? Quite a set on that guy.

Ya this has nothing to do with PC. The experts let us know ahead of time that attendance is a factor. That is not Hockey East's fault. Every school has a chance to host a regional if they are so concerned by this. And if you go by placing each #1 seed closest to home it's unfortunate for Minnesota State that the two teams ahead of them are from Minnesota. I would feel differently if the #1 overall seed had to play PC in Providence but this fits bracket integrity and how they place #1 seeds. It's not great but this is not some big injustice.
