The blows just keep coming....
Let's be clear though that next season is not in jeopardy. We're on track to achieve herd immunity through vaccinations by the end of May right now. Tough to get excited for the season now though because it's tough to see us staying competitive with all these departures.

My view would be this is on SAJ, not Dave S and staff, and her inability to provide guidance to all athletes over the past year. Spring season again cancelled, campus shut down/quarantine this week on a .3% positive rate, no athletic facilities opened all year etc. The list goes on and on. As an athlete at RPI right now, especially men’s hockey, not much reason to believe there will be a season next year. Players are not going to risk waiting too long to find out. SAJs track record clear and precise........she makes her own rules with zero regard for her athletic staff or student athletes.Take the shortest distance to the puck and arrive in ill humor

But her teammate that had her meeting on Tue got her paperwork filed. Again, makes sense? I guess the admin office isn't working during these two weeks, and took an extra day?
Thank you for the wise words! We've been repeating that far too often this past year... It will be well worth the education in the long run. RPI looks amazing on a resume. Bonus? She gets another year eligibility (I'm pretty sure about that?), so masters degree. The girl has goals - a lake house and a jeep. She's keeping up her studies, loves math and physics, and is keeping her eye on the prize. It's just gonna be a big, unneccesary struggle in the beginning apparently.
Sorry to talk about my girl in the mens team topic, but there's not much else to talk about here...
It helps to be a female in the STEM programs. Don't worry about the scholarships after graduation, RPI will take care of that.
I understand all the animosity towards SAJ, but my experience with two RPI alum is nothing less that spectacular.
Now lets get the hockey teams back on the ice.

Is this the start of an ugly trend??? Going to be interesting over next 7-10 days to see if anyone else enters portal.

Hearing of another "key" returning player entering portal as well.........

The rest of the local area, region, nation has hockey being played/practiced etc.........cob webs collecting at RPI facilities. The hockey sophs haven't been on campus since last March, and the entire team (I think) elected to stay home this semester. To me, that is a not a good sign that these athletes have any confidence in what may happen. To rely on what the rest of the world is doing in regards to getting back to a normal life, SAJ has shown she will do what she wishes. Until there is a statement from school/administration that athletics will return in Fall/Winter, I won't hold my breath. And apparently neither are some of the players. They have had enough of the run around.
